They exist. Its called an Active Protection System and they're used on tanks and APCs to shoot missiles/rockets out of the air.I can’t imagine the kind of technology it would take for a drone to shoot a knife out of the air.
Imagine an airborne megawatt laser weapon of the previous century (such as Beriev A-60 for example) advanced by technologies of an interstellar empire of mankind and thus capable of being installed on a drone (instead of an airplane) and perhaps also of having much more raw output than a megawatt.I can’t imagine the kind of technology it would take for a drone to shoot a knife out of the air.
The problem is that he is the one that has to decided if he has been compromised, and of course the answer is "no, I'm definitely not compromised, despite recognizing a clear change in my behavioral patterns and being subject to an irrepressible impulse of doing things I know are huge tactical mistakes"Right so, Iris is basically saying that Alan's mind may have been 'compromised' to a certain extent and that a foreign organism is inside his body inputting and outputting encrypted communications, shouldn't their priority be shoving Alan in a medical scanner and removing whatever this may be ?
And also comparing current Alan brain scans with Alan before the crash for any anomalies which may suggest brainwashing ?
Like, shouldn't their priority be purging any and all Lumina's influence from him ? Or the worst case scenario being scanning Alan's brain and freezing his body into a cryogenic chamber.
Having his brain checked for brainwashing and if clear, uploading his brain data to the cloning machine and printing a "new Alan" with stronger nanites and perhaps giving him a CBRNe or HAZMAT suit to avoid this Alan from being "infected" by Luminas.
I mean, seriously, if Alan gets compromised, it is over, he is the entity with full authority over Iris, if Luminas people are a faction or something get full control over Alan, that means control of Iris and authorization codes, implying that they can use them to wage war against their enemies and jeopardize their whole operation of protecting this humanity against the Bugs menace.
i thought its part of his personality too. He is quite the bottom feeder before his ship destroyed after all, and become the sole captain simply because no one else is alive. so him not acting like a proper captain of big army is somewhat understandable. like being more impulsive/flexible in his actions rather than cautious/stick to procedure.it's consistent for him to take that stance. He's been operating outside of standard procedures since he got here and may be court martialed if he ever gets back. At the same time, his response to it could also be in line with his thought process.
