Don't worry turning point 1 is coming...So many LN spoilers in this thread, it's hard to resist 😫
Considering Mao Mao has the favor of the Emperor's two main consorts, plus he's spoken to her directly on multiple occassions, be more afraid of what he's going to do to the kidnappers.I don’t know what her doctor dad will do, but I’m more afraid of what her biological dad would pull.
I think they emphasize her love of wearing different fashions and hairstyles which confuses the emperor and makes him not desire her (chapter 34) and her makeup on the eyes making it not easy to see her eye shape (chapter 23) as a way to show that truly no one knows what she looks like unadorned. So someone/one of her maids can just cover for her especially since the courtesan never talks. Plus why are we assuming she wants to be a courtesan and that it wasn’t her father actions that put her there
There’s no way someone of that high status would have so much time to just hang out with random maids and mess around with bugs for so long everyday. Just because she’s not shown that much she’s still consistently interacts with the maids and even works at the bathhouse. Why would the fourth highest ranking consort who worked so incredibly hard to get to that position put so much effort to ago back to so much lower of a position. And this is also assuming Mao Mao wouldn’t be able to instantly see through any disguise ahe wore
any clue about which volume of LN on this chapter?

Because I’m sure people will misread this: the mangaka is basically sentenced to probation. They will only go to prison if they commit another crime within the next three years. They also need to pay a hefty fine, and they have already mentioned working with an accountant.
sooo the series still running like usual ?Because I’m sure people will misread this: the mangaka is basically sentenced to probation. Square Enix has announced that they are NOT cancelling the manga.
I really hope they still continue the manga, but I don't know if anyone related to him will be comfortable with the scandal and if there will be another negotiation about the continuationBecause I’m sure people will misread this: the mangaka is basically sentenced to probation. I just remember the case of Watsuki Nobuhiro (author of Rurouni Kenshin) who was found to be in possession of child pornography. Got a slap on the wrist and some minor fine, now he's still active and making big bucks, so yeah... I don't think you have to worry about tax evasion. Apparently usually for these cases, if the appropriate fine is paid and maybe some bribery to smooth the way (as it always is for Asian countries, I'm Asian btw), the artist should be fine.I really hope they still continue the manga, but I don't know if anyone related to him will be comfortable with the scandal and if there will be another negotiation about the continuation
I just hope that won't be happening
It's one of the best selling manga in Japan today, like top 3 this year only behind JJK and Frieren. There's no way they let such a lucrative manga be axed.I really hope they still continue the manga, but I don't know if anyone related to him will be comfortable with the scandal and if there will be another negotiation about the continuation

Well... Cats are notoriously agile creatures. It might not be surprising for one of them to climb the external walls from time to time.
You guys just forgot that there's a big moat outside of the Inner Palace? Climbing up inside is a thing, coming in from outside is a different thing altogether. Maomao (the girl) thought the cat came with the caravan then ran away, which would be more believable.Yeah, a cat really isn't that surprising. Especially when past chapters have shown maids getting up there from time to time, with bound feet.
You may be surprised to find that cats are adept at fighting snakes. Thanks for the chapter.
It’s been a while since I read this arc in the LN, but I remember it’s a doozy and Maomao is actually more of a mongoose than cat. Looking forward to see everything in a manga format.
