Rou Ran be scheming
Or rather, "Don't take the cat from theit frog"And that's why you don't take the Maomao from their Jinshii.
I thinks its more of a who's who because I don't really remember the name with the face on most of the manga that I read, especially with Chinese name which is even harder for me, even more so on a mystery manga that is mostly using people nameThis arc is far from over and actually has some pretty great moments to come. Do you just need someone to summarize what's going on so far?
Holy shit we have the same problem. I feel so lost in this arc because of this, it's hard on manga and it's even harder on Chinese mangai'll be honest i can't remember any of the names in this series other then mao mao and jinshi. is the missing consort the little girl MC figured out that part of the kidnapping plot?
Officially, Jinshi is the second son of the pedo Emperor, and thus brother of the current emperor. However, he has taken on the guise of the eunuch Jinshi. (And presumably his real name is not "Jinshi".)I coulda sworn I knew what was going on but after reading the comments I actually don't think I know anymore. I could've sworn it was confirmed (to the readers) Jinshi was the son of the pedo emperor and the empress dowager, and he's just faking being sick/an eunuch. It was only a theory (held by himself) that he was the current emperors kid. There was a switched at birth plotline for the second prince??? Who the hell is Ah Duo????
You saved me a whole lotta heartache, thank you ❤Officially, Jinshi is the second son of the pedo Emperor, and thus brother of the current emperor. However, he has taken on the guise of the eunuch Jinshi. (And presumably his real name is not "Jinshi".)
But known to only a few, he is actually the son of the current emperor and Ah Duo, who was the (current) emperor's child hood friend and milk-sibling (i.e. she's the daughter of his milk maid). He himself does not know this. (Ah Duo was the Pure Consort who departed the inner court many arcs ago.) Also, Maomao theorized that this was the case at the time that Ah Duo was leaving, but then Maomao dismissed her own theory as just too baseless, so even Maomao doesn't know.
noRemember kids, do your taxes
doesn't help how damn similar all the women in the story look tooHoly shit we have the same problem. I feel so lost in this arc because of this, it's hard on manga and it's even harder on Chinese manga
Maomao doesn't theorize that Aduo is Jinshi's mom because they resemble eachother. Read the early chapters again. She figures out the baby switcheroo and, separately, notes that the person Aduo reminded her of was Jinshi- but she doesn't go beyond that. She realizes the baby plot because of Aduo's words, not because of any resemblance to Jinshi. She doesn't know Jinshi is the imperial prince.Well, it's odd because here he is complaining that he doesn't look like his brother
- Jinshi's resemblance to Ah Duo was so strong that it inspired Maomao's theory that Ah Duo was his actual mother.
- In addition, the resemblance is so strong that Ah Duo was used as a stand-in for Jinshi recently.
- Moreover, Jinshi must have an unusually close relationship with her since she invited him for drinks the night before she left the inner palace; and he was able to prevail on her to act as his double.
- So they have a very close resemblance, a close relationship, and she had a child about his age... But it never occurred to him that he might actually be her son? Unlikely.
- And this despite the fact that he's complaining that he doesn't look like his mother or "brother". So if lack of similarity is causing him to doubt one relationship, shouldn't the presence of similarity cause him to suspect the other relationship?
Jinshi & Emperor?
- Though it is odd that he claims to not resemble his "brother" (presumed father).
- Perhaps Ah Duo is his mother but
the emperor is not his father.... But that seems very unlikely. No other (non-castrated) males allowed in the Inner Court, and his mother would have every reason to remain faithful.(Maybe some guy snuck in through the secret door and raped Ah Duo?)- ...
- Edit: Nevermind. Jinshi looked like the previous emperor when he was young. That's what freaked out the old maid -- she overlapped him with the previous Emperor. (But Jinshi didn't recognize this because Jinshi only saw the prev Emperor as an old man.) Ironically, the thing that triggered Jinshi about his identity actually proved his identity.
I just checked the early chapters, and you're incorrect.Maomao doesn't theorize that Aduo is Jinshi's mom because they resemble eachother. Read the early chapters again. She figures out the baby switcheroo and, separately, notes that the person Aduo reminded her of was Jinshi- but she doesn't go beyond that. She realizes the baby plot because of Aduo's words, not because of any resemblance to Jinshi. She doesn't know Jinshi is the imperial prince.
"Not up to speculation"? Bizarre statement. Speculation and analysis is what we do here!and like I already said, you can see in ch 55 what Jinshi himself thinks his family situation is: that the Empress Dowager is his mother and the previous emperor his father. Whether or not you think it doesn't make sense he doesn't know that he's Aduo's child is irrelevant: we've already been shown what he canonically thinks. It's not up to speculation.
Agreed, them wearing uniform, black haired, have no quirk doesn't help toodoesn't help how damn similar all the women in the story look too
