Even in English it's not "nonbinary shit". We can refer to people by they/them/that in the singular just fine, and have for centuries in English, within context. "That bastard" = "that demon king", for example. The rest are similar.

But do we use They/Them/That to refer to a singular entity in modern day English outside LGBT garbage? No we don't. If you want to refer to something singular you'd use it.

relax guys its just a mistake the translator made. when it comes to Japanese, sometimes it is hard to understand what pronouns to use. the problem is just that the translator didn't proofread it well enough.

i do think it would be kinda cool if it was other takeru (takkun) especially since this chapter just brought up that our takeru hopes they could've been friends WHILE HE WAS FIGHTING THE DARK KNIGHT!!! it's just such strong potential foreshadowing that it almost HAS to be that now in my mind.

In chapter 37 you can see that the dark knight already existed before he was executed in the otherworld.

The demon lord is clearly Edelweiss, the question is how. The knight is his old body, possibly with the original Takeru demonified, or being controlled as a puppet by Edelweiss. Pandora turning humans into demons.. a reference to pandoras box to be sure.. Edelweiss, meaning in flower language is innocence, purity, and renewal. What's the opposite of that? Corruption, guilt, and decay. Now the plot point of being in another persons body is interesting. Are the demons a parasite that take over humans in this universe? Is the real person still inside and can they be re-humanized?
