Yeah, it's usually a phrase built on pride and envy since it's often built around the idea that people who have a lot can't also have their own set of problems, when really it really does need to be more directed towards helping people expand their thinking rather than making an asinine attempt to make them feel guilty. Honestly, the people that commonly use that phrase tend to be the types that really should be checking their own privileges 🤔As it should be.
"check your privileges" focuses too much on that people should be ashamed of what they have, instead of fostering gratitude and the feeling charity, which in the end only makes people less prone to want to repay others.
