The word "hero" in Japanese is literally translated as "Brave Man." But like in English, take the word "peacock." It's a bird, even if it's made up of two other words. In the same sense, "Braveman" is a single word meaning "Hero" in Japanese.

Thus the "brave factor." Without the brave, you just have a man, not a hero.

This elf calling human lives short all the time is no different from a rich person calling others poor all the time. At least with monetary comparisons it often leads to problems and increased salt content. And there is also no need to promote that difference unless it's very important in the discussion.

Since MC used to be a human, he should also remember at least something about being one and how time felt back then. Getting married or starting romance between individuals of big lifespan differences is problematic, however spending time or doing something together is not as long as feelings don't develop too much.
