Thing is, overwhelmingly the dumbest "pranks" (the ones which get people irritated) come from random "pranksters". Not the real translation groups for a manga. For example, https://mangadex.org/chapter/1c30986f-9046-45bb-afbd-af636e9f3e9b

The onus is still on them if suddenly a different translation group uploads a chapter and they don't notice it.

The ongoing spirited defense of why it's everyone's fault if they don't get the clever humor behind the unfunny uploads reminds me of an old saying: "The bit dog yelps loudest." 😅

(For the record, bravo to the ones who genuinely are clever with it - like the MangaDex team that came up with this, or the occasional regular group who knows their series well enough to actually be funny.)
