Sorting manga chapters according to time of updating?

If you view your follows in simple list you can sort it in various ways including last updated.
I also just noticed that it's not possible to sort authors alphabetically, can't think of any reason why we shouldn't be able to so I'm going to suggest that.

Was there any easy way to sort the followed manga from the follows page rather than going to each manga page?

What about choosing the page number for manga search, which goes well with the content filtering that's coming soon? Just cause sometimes you already know what genre you what eg. comedy and romance but there are so many mangas that you can't skim over all of them for one that you like in one go. but when you come back you can only skip 2 pages of search or go to last, which makes it painful if you already gone through 20+ pages and pressing that button again and again.

P.s not sure about whether this was mentioned yet but a search tool for alphabetical ordering so you don't necessarily have to go through more pages of manga search pages each time due to updates of new mangas, this would also be good for forums too as Megathreads get longer and longer.

Now that we have the ability to sort follows, how about a feature that shows how many users have the series sorted a certain way.

For example, if a series has 125 follows, it'd be nice to see how many of them are "reading", "completed", "plan to read", etc.
This could perhaps be accomplished subtly by having it be a mouse-over tooltip on the follows?

Or maybe it could just be a detailed stats tab, complete with ratings delineation kind of like MAL has:

@mochi My idea is more for the protection of the site if anything. Even with the ability to choose what content is visible, there will be those who choose to do things just because the content is there. I would hate to see the site be hit by cyberattacks by groups who aim to disable or worse website that have that types of material on them, such as the "lolicon". Then you actually have the who legality matter of it, as some countries do look at "lolicon" as the same as child pornography, despite it only being drawings and not real images of children. In the end, I am just asking that the people run the site make sure and protect themselves and the site. If they determine there are no legal issues, and that they can protect themselves properly from the cyber-groups, then I have no issues.

About cyber-groups: honestly, I don't think that hosting loli will make mangadex a more interesting target than what it already is. Remember why batoto shut down, then consider how prude their mods were.

About governments: in any western country, even the US, there's little to no possibility that DRAWN content which already passed a government's censorship (japan's) will make them shutdown the site. It's much much more likely they target mangadex for hosting copyrighted materials, and only if japan's government strongly asks them to.

Really, there's no worry about that.

If Mangadex has vulnerabilities then I would be significantly more worried about actually nefarious hackers than some bizarre blackhat group on a moral crusade against lolicon

US law re:loli/shotacon is a gray area, hosting it should be fine since its recognised as not being the same as CP, but readers should be aware that the law in their area may be different and see it the same as CP, even tho federal law doesn't.

perhaps loli and shota hentai should have something of a disclaimer mentioning that?

@tathra No need for a disclaimer, if its lewd it should be filed under the hentai section, and viewing lewd lolis dosn't put the site at risk if were based in the us. it'd be on the users end for responsibility viewing based on their country. At worst the website would get blocked in some country, and a disclaimer wouldn't help that. What we really need is a clearer line on what counts as hentai or not. The smut tag really obscures it, as i still have a yaoi manga with insertion tagged under smut and not as hentai cause its mainly story based. would be good to know if any sex = hentai or not. If that is smut then we would prob need a disclaimer on things tagged as smut as its still r18.

I think follow folders would be great, rather than the somewhat nebulous list of most recently updated manga on our "Follows" page. Allow users to create, name, and add manga to specific folders to keep track of certain genres, authors, groups, etc. I want all of the Isekai manga I follow in one place, lol.
