Not really... He's written as a true, unadulterated psychopath.
A smart one, actually, given he managed to rise to the top while hiding his insanity from the rest of the world.

The dark elf wife punched him after saying that so I think it was supposed to be "even of the children we didn't sire ourselves" so the wives work together and love all the girls thinking "I have 5 daughters" instead of 1 daughter with 4 half-sisters"

Narcissists can be smart, but definitely not always. Some of them can actually be huge idiots, they just do a good job of looking like they're smart. The reality is that they'll always be foiled by their grandiose delusions about their own self-image. And they have absolutely no qualms about hurting people if its to further enhance their image.
