Okay, but nothing in the story has even come close to a "big lipped alligator moment". Maria getting away with her kills in a revenge manga isn't really ridiculous.

The story never really followed normal logic. The first chapter has Maria's son jumping off a cliff and he somehow survives until the truck kills him.

Yeah, that wasn't a lethal fall. You can survive way more than you think you can. As long as he doesn't his his head, it'd suck, but he'd live.

We don't know when she set up the traps in the mansion. It could have been days, weeks, months, or a year ago at best. Any point of time is valid, so this isn't really ridiculous.

He didn't leap head first, though. His legs took the full brunt of the fall. No credit for guessing what shape they were in.

That is just a guess. I don't really think she set up her trap a year ago. Point is we don't know how long ago Maria set up this trap.

Yeah his legs took the brunt of it, but that cliff is at least over 30 foot tall. There's no way he would have gotten away with just leg injuries. In fact he's be dead.

I'm also rolling my eyes about the bolts from the trap hitting bullseyes. Hitting one herself is fine, but a trap hitting four bullseyes at once plus one eye is just ridonculous.

And then he's still somehow moving (and had the energy to pull out his freaking eye) after getting shocked.

And minor gripe, but that chainsaw slice through his fingers looks too clean. It's not a freaking sword, it should've been a LOT messy.

Finally, if he's dead after this chapter, it's a unsatisfying revenge. I feel like something that's not violent and/or slow that makes his insane strength/durability useless would be a much better revenge for him.

I think this is one of those things you aren't supposed to think too deeply about. Maybe that's a cop out answer but I don't know what to tell you.

I haven't consumed that many revenge stories, but AFAIK there are two kind ls. The violent kind, or the intellectual kind.

I think this series is supposed to be the latter, but this revenge is more on the former, and just kinda stupid and boring for a revenge.

I imagine Kinukawa is running on endophomins at this point. But there’s something so satisfying to see him cower in fear. The very thing he wielded to hurt and traumatize people is the thing that will kill him. Now either Maria drugged him with some hallucinogenic substance or that electric current caused a stimuli in his body to make him see Okaya but I think it would be so funny to see him running from his “friends” that he did all of this violence for. Also, that setup was honestly the most ingenious thing I’ve seen. When she said she researched and prepared a lot for this, I did not know it also included finding these elaborate traps. Not only was the rig set up to target every focal point at exactly his height and distance, but it was set up so well every point hit the bullseye. That must have took so much calculation and testing. Maria was a housewife before this so to see her completely do this 180 just shows how far she intends to take this revenge.

You're ignoring that he fell from at least 30 feet and landed on solid concrete. I don't believe a 14 year old boy would be able to survive a jump like that, let alone stay conscious in real life.

meh probably a setup for a "oh no I'm becoming the villain" moment which wouldn't be out of character for the trope but is out of character for Maria but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised

No, when did I say it was possible for Maria to become the new Jigsaw in two years, let alone believable? I said it wasn't strange not believable. My point was its ridiculous to use real life logic to critic a fictional series.
