The reason it's so unbelievable is because the MC never comments on it or points out how backward these beliefs are relative to the technological development of their society. It's a common problem with the story because the author never fleshes shit out and just throws in whatever convenient isekai tropes (except IN SPACE and sometimes not even) he comes up with or whenever he wants to make some cheap jab.

Frankly the biggest waste is the whole "terrorist org turning off evolutionary limiters of farm meat" as a weak jab to rl animal rights orgs. Like come on that's such a good hook. Tell me their ideals, what're their goals, they sound like fantastic villains, develop them goddamit.

As far as I knew from LN, MC did get that Gold Star and become Platinum rank after finishing some kind of impromptu monster extermination that including military(and yes Serena included). Even after that AFAIK, Serena still nope to MC. Chris indeed also want to join the harem as well after returning home, but her grandpa say nope. So Mei the maid robo advising Chris to take and become the leader(kinda) of her noble clan and try persuade MC to become personal mercenary since the reason MC say nope to Chris is he want to become still mercenary, free to act and Chris still underage

Actually no, it drives home the point of MC that dealing with nobles is a massive pain and he rather not deal with them altogether. It does prove his point.

Which is hilarious since he really really doesn't like nor does he want to become nobility. But in order to realize his dream of owning his own home on a planet he HAS to be a noble to be granted land rights.
