Least obvious axe. So much wasted potential, specially the art. Not only is the manga axed, the light novel was also axed lol.
In this case, I can only say that the author was unlucky.
I remember during an AMA of a certain light novel author, I asked about his feelings of success regarding getting an English license, he replied that success in light novel industry is completely luck-based.
Obviously, there is a certain level of skill involved, but a large portion of the process is just luck. There is no other explanation to why so many LNs with incredible potential get axed while billions of "Kenja no Mago" isekai slop is still in business.
Reading this manga feels like listening to "Renai Circulation." It's supposed to be a sweet slow-life manga, kind of like Oswald (whoever watched Oswald during their childhood is my friend without introduction)
But this manga had the misfortune of having an indecisive author. Author couldn't decide whether he wanted this to be slow life or a manga that had an actual plotline. He kept switching between this and that. It kept going from the messy convoluted noble chasing Aix arc back to this peaceful slow life, you can't be doing that too much. Just pick what you want to be and there will be a portion of the readers that will always be dedicated to the manga.
Doing this switcheroo just pisses everyone off.
This is really a waste. When I first started this, it was a wholesome palate-cleanser after reading dozens of fantasy garbage, then it later turned into those fantasy garbage.
