REBEL 1"The Wheel of Fate is Turning!"
I had skimmed the raw a few months back, spoiler me wonder what happen to his relationship with the ex and sis? i saw in the comment about what happen to the ex, but what about the sis, have/will they make up?
cyclos sister is involved with the guild. her slander is the cause of the guilds people misconduct against cyclo.Other than her being a tsundere who might say these things regularly, the whole thing started with that skill appraisal where they initially make him out to be nothing more than an unskilled craftsman, but you seem to be forgetting that despite that, both his sister and fiance thought they were supporting him monetarily and emotionally, the letters and money not reaching him isn't their fault.
The root cause is the Church with their, 'oh yeah, your skill is mentioned in scripture as being important to God, but in real life it's shit and you should be treated as shit' like what happened to the slave girl. The slander from the sister and Hero made things way worse, but it isn't the cause.cyclos sister is involved with the guild. her slander is the cause of the guilds people misconduct against cyclo.
From what I've seen in the japanese raw,I had skimmed the raw a few months back,
she was still with them, but she essentially induced crippling PTSD in MC. Main girl was going to try some special healing to hopefully heal his mind, but I think they were afraid of what manipulating someone's mind would do to them or something. Other spoilers had stated sis becomes their criminal slave.
The church isn't just wrong, they're intentionally deceiving people. I forgot the exact reason beyond greed, corruption, etc. But they're messing with the titles by lying about them. The root cause is the Church with their, 'oh yeah, your skill is mentioned in scripture as being important to God, but in real life it's shit and you should be treated as shit' like what happened to the slave girl. The slander from the sister and Hero made things way worse, but it isn't the cause.
It's funny how people defend a tsundere as if the mc can break the fourth wall and actually have the same perspective as the reader. It will be better understandable for you to put your feet in MC's schoes given that part of your technically death sentence is the very words that came out of her mouth the moment she sees him again.
Can you easily forgive someone realistically if that someone is one of the very reason you got convicted of a crime you didn't commit, else get sent to die for? A sister? yes. should have known better? yes. Does that invalidate his experiences? No.
Stop thinking like a reader on this one and start emphatising with a very flawed character.
P.S. Can someone please link the raws? want to read. lol
THAAAAANKSYep, I think defending them is not just unhealthy but also dangerous.
There's nothing "cute" or even remotely charming about Tsunderes, they're toxic, emotionally stunted and completely vile.
Even if that were to be put to one side, try placing yourself in his position (or one similar to as far as that is possible).
Imagine your sister was mouthing off about you behind your back only for you to get jumped by a couple of guys who then beat you up and landed you in A&E*. She then comes in to visit you and trots out something akin to "Your so hopeless I had to come visit you, not that I was worried or anything"
If my sister did that to me, then the least she can expect in return is me yeeting the bedpan at her head, I might not hold a permanent grudge against her, but more fool me if I just shrug it off with a "Meh, it happens". I've said this elsewhere, but accountability matters, you can do so much harm with careless talk, regardless if you're a hero with a brand-new pair of rose-tinted spectacles, or a demon king with a god complex but no long-term planning.
*Not entirely the same I know, but he was beaten, he was starved and ultimately pushed into the depths, but consider how close he came to actual death, that is not something that should be overlooked at all, nor neatly brushed to one side.
This part of the Manga ends with Chapter 4, episode 21
Raws linked below end at Chapter 5, episode 12
Light novel at the moment ends on Chpater 12, episode 19.

Light novel is still being updated, looked like it got dropped at one point as there was a 7 month plus gap with no updates (and plenty of requests on other sites for someone else to pick it up).
King sends out orders, obviously it's not good for the general populous to hear what the hero is actually like or have him killed. So he’s sent to the front lines, is pinned down, has his head forcibly shaved and face branded/burnt so he’s no longer recognizable. Magic is used to make a designated replacement look just like the hero, while later on the real hero is quietly murdered for his crimes.
This one is still left open at the moment; she’s sent to a distant monastery on the boarders with the Demon realm and is to remain there until she dies. As of yet, she hasn’t popped up again, her father later approaches the MC and makes a request for him to make ameens with her (I think… translations are super wonky on this part), it kind of reads like forgiveness, so she can return from exile. He’s reminded by MC’s sister of all people that he was the first one to turn on the MC and cancel their engagement. MC calms things down as it devolves into a yelling match before telling the father that, that’s not going to happen.
I'm tempted to pick up translating (in general), but it would absolutely be a long road, I speak only a few words of Japanese and can't read or write it at all. Seems like a good time to learn.Hope the translations catch up at least before the year is over.
