Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - The Stains Of Time
This Metal ROCKS!!!!

Super Smash Bros Brawl - Final Destination
(In the voice of a droning cultist) Smash Bros. Is eternal. The work of Masahiro Sakurai will always stand. (In the voice of an excited fanboy) And the Brawl ver. of Final Destination is by far the best in the series!

Haunting Ground - Last Daniella
This one was a bit closer, given I have no experience with either IP, but I just prefer the "instability" (if that makes sense) of Last Daniella in this case.

Cave Story - Last Battle (Vs. Undead Core; Final Battle!)
This one was actually pretty easy for me. My vote for Mogadishu Night Battle was justified by it building tension throughout. That works in a movie like Black Hawk Down, but not for a *ahem* last stand in FTL. There's just not enough time to build up the tension, so all that "small" sound is wasted when it could be used to rapidly ramp up the intensity and *cough* *cough* stress of the situation. Cave Story jumps in head first and doesn't stop till the cave floor kicks you in the teeth as you face plant in defeat (or inevitably win after however many retries).

It's also an experiment as to which type of explanation feels better to write out for you guys, so if you think I should just keep it simple, I'll take that under consideration.}

A stranger i remain, (notice a pattern?)
Brawl Final Destination, to me, this is the true soundtrack of FD, all of the other ones i feel like they don't match with the stage.
Haunting Ground, Phantom Blood sounds like Castlevania and that is not a bad thing, but i prefer this other one.
Cave Story, the FTL track is very good, extremely good, but it starts a little slow and... You know what? F*ck it, i'll vote for FTL because it's a good game

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - The Stains Of Time VS Electric Light Orchestra - Mr. Blue Sky

As expected from MGR, Stains of Time didn't disappoint. It's exciting and a blast to listen to. Excellent vocal and motivating instruments. I'd prefer other MGR songs over it, but no doubt it's still a great song. As for Blue Sky, uhm, let's just say that it's nothing to wow me.

Made in Abyss - The Rumble of Scientific Triumph VS Super Smash Bros Brawl - Final Destination

This was an interesting match. Scientific Triumph has a slow start, but the instruments kick up after about 50 seconds in, that's when it really became interesting. I like the chilling vibe throughout the whole track. However, like another track in the previous phase, some parts of it felt underwhelming, and I felt like the track was setting me up for something climatic, but it had none in the end. Perhaps some contexts might have helped it. On the contrary, Final Destination, while it's not one of the best I've heard, is more consistent and more entertaining to my ears.

Haunting Ground - Last Daniella VS Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - Decisive Battle ~ Overlapping Destinies

Hm... I'm not too impressed by either one of these tracks. It's an even match, with both have mysterious and chilling vibe in them, with Daniella even feeling creepy. I think Destinies came out on top by a very small margin because of the heroic feel toward the end. It feels like you're finally unraveling the truth behind a mystery. Well, I don't know how it works in the anime's context, but it just gives me that feel. So it's just a little bit better than Daniella.

Cave Story - Last Battle (Vs. Undead Core; Final Battle!) VS Faster Than Light - Last Stand

Last Battle is another gem that I've discovered in this tournament. It's catchy and has a mixture of motivating and nervous feel from beginning to end, which makes me want to listen to it again. Last Stand, uhm, I feel cheated. The track started out slow, then became a little faster, but just never had anything really interesting to offer. I was expecting something climatic to happen. I kept waiting for it, waited for it to get out of the "build-up" phase, but it just never did. At the end, I felt... disappointed. This might have worked better with some contexts, but on its own, it's nothing to wow me.

You're kinda right, there's a bit of context required. Last Stand is supposed to sound exactly like it is because it's predecessor Federation was scrapped because it sounded (from the composer' mouth) "too uplifting". There is no "tension build up" because story wise your side is already in a "shit has already hit the fan and now everything is on fire...oh shit life support is down!" scenario. You can argue that Last Stand should have been more "intense" but that would be out of place in a game where death means restarting from the beginning. The game will not hold your hands or drip feed hope, you only have two choices, victory or Valhalla.
