Munition production was one of the first things they started doing when they realized they were in a new world, with supply chains from the nearby continental kingdoms for raw materials. They're going to be fine.Japan doesn't have TASMs, only anti-ship missiles, and those wouldn't be enough to pen the armor of the ship.
It will be sunk by one of the subs most likely there is no ship in the world that can withstand a modern keel breaking torpedo.
Also Japan has DDGs, not CGs.
The JASDF will likely run into munition issues very soon.
1974.Um, when did Japan resurrect the Yamato from WWII with 18 inch guns?

Yesdang, are we going to see a modern destroyer vs a ww2 battleship?
No lead up or explanation?im so lost... like the writer just added a whole different isekai with 0 explanation or lead up to it
An ASM would absolutely kill a WWII-era battleship. It's not a requirement for the ASM to hit and penetrate the main belt, there's plenty of spots with a lot less armor that can be precisely hit with guided munitions. You might not put a big hole in the side to sink it that way, but you can certainly toss a couple ASMs into the towers, or through the upper decks and recreate the fate of the U.S.S Arizona.Japan doesn't have TASMs, only anti-ship missiles, and those wouldn't be enough to pen the armor of the ship.

WW2 battleships are a tough thing to sink, even for modern navies. I think a lot of people underestimate both just how armoured they are (modern naval ships have paper for armour by comparison), and how big their guns are. An Iowa-class battleship had 9 16-inch guns and 20 5-inch guns, by comparison, an Arleigh Burke class destroyer has a single 5-inch gun. Lacking modern fire control and targeting radar hurts the WW2 ships accuracy a lot, but even a near miss can cause problems for the target.
That said, anti-ship missiles will very easily reach out and touch the battleship, even with all the anti-air guns they have. Buuut on the other hand, anti-ship missiles tend to have warheads in the ~500 pound range, and WW2 era battleships tanked hits from 14 to 18-inch guns, and 1000 pound bombs without sinking. Mission killing one wouldn't be hard, but sinking one is. It's one fight where I'd probably want a Kirov instead of a Burke or Tico, since their anti-ship missiles have ~1500 pound warheads instead of ~500 pounds (they were designed to be carrier killers, and afaik modern supercarriers are even harder to sink than WW2 battleships).
Personally I think I'd want to avoid ship-on-ship battles and hit them with torpedoes and bombs. Modern heavy torpedoes pack a bigger punch, and are much more capable than, WW2 torpedoes. Ditto with laser-guided bombs dropped from well outside the battleships AA envelope. (I was going to say JDAM's, but they rely on GPS, and I'm not sure if they're good vs moving targets).
It will still be one-sided slaughter.
That battleship cannot hold a hand to modern cruiser that can snipe it from much greater range with cruise missile.
In terms of infantry and tanks... JSDF as small as it is an elite force and can easily overwhelm WW2 era infantry and armor.
Air force... No contest. Even if they have Me-262 like tech they must go agaisnt modern jets which is suicide.
And I imagine that Japan in that world would work with other Kingdoms and adopt the use of magic for ease of convenience (healing for example) and that will only give them even more of an edge.
You can say that again.I'm torn on whether I still like this series. Granted, there are some good parts. But in the end, it's just "I have no idea who they are, so they must be weaker than us, so we'll wreck those barbarians" followed immediately with them getting wrecked by said "barbarians."
Then rinse and repeat.
I assume this would happen on the next chaptersYou can say that again.
I can understand sheer arrogance since Japan did appear in area 1 that has mediveal to 19th century technology. But so far only Mu were actually smart enough to send delegates first to scout the situation.
You would assume that all these empires would first send scout parties to analyze the enemy, not march right into their deaths.
