person upstairs don't understand asian parents behavior lmao

i understand eunyung's spendthrift behavior now— i felt the same way when me and my parents fought real bad that i couldn't care less where my money went, as long as it's not to my parents or their retirement fund. and in typical asian family fashion, nothing gets resolved and the argument is left forgotten— i wonder if wanan will go the same path to hammer in the current reality or resolve in someway eunyung's relationship with his parents
Hell yeah, and some how it always comeback to “you are just in rebellious phase.” Tbh tho, In my opinion and experiences, the fight within Asian families are different from Asian American families. The first one is the parents is abusive af and never realized it because of “that how it should be”. The second one, the parents expected too much, and the kid got “Americanize” and screaming abuse abuse at everything their parents do.

I'm just going to say this once because we've hashed this out before, but you're wrong.

Like, it's very clear you have no idea how the real world works. Truly shitty parents USUALLY don't get better, but they can. Some actually do. I've seen it. I've actually seen much more abusive parents than these in real life get better. I've seen much more stay bad, though.

At the end of the day, it's up to the author to decide how to write this. My problem is that you made a statement about real life, and you're wrong.
Yeah, good point. Sometimes, shit people can become better, other times they don’t.

And even those who do, don’t necessarily become better in the ways we would expect “better” to typically be. Nor do they become quite so much better than we’d hope. Sometimes a person only becomes just good enough that it give you hope, but never further than that.

Maybe these two parents could improve if something in their life changed. But honestly, they don’t really look the type. They don’t self-reflect, and that’s one of the most powerful factors of chamge.
