I get Eunyung's reasoning, but man. Just sitting there playing a game while your mom is laying down crying and telling you about her abusive childhood is some sociopathic behavior.
There is such a thing as taking your revenge too far. This is not healthy for any of them.

Maybe it is a little too far, but her childhood doesn't excuse how they treated Eunyung, if anything it's pure hypocrisy, she's saying how she had it worse, how she shouldn't have forgiven her father just because he was her parent, well, why should Eunyung forgive them when she says all that?

You mentioned her crying, she started crying after he said she probably did something to deserve the abuse, well, isn't that literally how they justify their abuse of Eunyung? That he was problematic so he deserved it?

Seriously, in my opinion the fact that she was abused just makes her  worse, because she literally knows first-hand on how it is to have abusive parent that gives you a horrible childhood, and then she goes and do the same to her child?

Nah, fuck them, karma is a bitch as they say, even  if they were serious about changing, nobody is entitled to forgiveness, nobody is entitled to be part of someone else life, independent if they share blood, the fact that they kept pushing and forcing Eunyung to come back in my opinion is proof that they're not really better, because they think they can simply demand things to go back to how they were, you don't get to make demands of the people you hurt, and sometimes there's simply no forgiveness for what you did.

This hurts to read. Eunyung has shown genuine care and concern for his mom before (asking how her job is treating her after seeing how damaged her hands were and how hard she’s been working, and taking a stand against his dad only after seeing him shove her) and even though he wants so badly to hurt her the same way she pointedly hurt him, when he does actually throw the same words she repeated at him growing up back at her in a moment she’s showing great weakness for maximum impact he can’t help but buckle and regrets it only after the fact… reminds me of his huge fight with haejoon in the thanksgiving/sports festival arc wherein at first he felt a euphoric rush at “winning” after saying something cruel enough to make haejoon falter, only to feel like shit and regret it like 2 seconds later

Hurt people hurt people. Eunyung probably listened to his mom rant about life, that somehow it feels worse than how she and his father are treating him right now. It sucks to be the one who always compromises. She needs to understand that what she's doing is no different from what her parents did. What the heck? Saying "I've really tried" doesn't mean anything if you keep interfering in his life without considering his feelings.
You can't blame the child when you literally chose to bring him into this world. You chose to let your crappy husband beat him up whenever he pleased. You chose not to support his hobby because you didn't care.
Eunyung is hurt. That's why he's hurting you back. It's simply your actions coming back to you.

I've been so pissed I read the latest chapters. Here's the spoiler (4-5 chapters worth of content so proceed with caution):
Eunyung met Haejoon and told him that he had cried. Haejoon managed to cheer him up, and they were getting back to the dorm. Eunyung got a phone call saying he lost his job because his parents suddenly refused to let him work. So they went back to that house and confronted the dad. He was right out saying, Don't think you're free from this; you won't ever get a job because I will never allow it. In the heat, Eunyung grabbed a wine bottle and tried to hit him from behind, but Haejoon managed to stop him, only to get hit (I don't know by what) and fall.
Haejoon got a mild concussion; he is fine. Before going to the police station, he and Eunyung had a heart-to-heart conversation. He had doubts about himself. "You don't know what kind of person I am." The accusation of Eunyung parents that he is the black sheep really got him. He thinks he is the one with problems, and that's why they are so mean to him. He also remembered calling the neighbor lady a crazy bitch, and it saddened him so much.
When they went to the police station, the dad asked Haejoon if Eunyung was trying to hit him with a bottle, and Haejoon got hit while stopping him. Haejoon replied, "No?" I fell and hit my head against the wall or floor behind me." The dad got super pissed saying these brats talked to each other about this, didn't you, and with the FUNNIEST sad looking face, Haejoon said, "I'm telling the truth. Why do you keep insisting on that? :("
Eunyung got flustered and tried to stop Haejoon, saying thank you that's enough, proceeded to get shoved to the side LMAO, "MOVE". The mom came and yelled at the dad for reporting their child to the police (In a bad way, she was implying it's an embarrassing thing to do to your family.) Haejoon said Eunyung isn't coming back to that house because they want to report a case of domestic violence. He gave proof images and voice recordings of past calls, saying it was also reported once when Eunyung was a kid. The mom then lashed out at Haejoon, asking if he had any animosity with this family. Eunyung ran out of the station in shock.
He asked Haejoon if he thought this was the right thing to do. Haejoon tells him he's right (chad). In the past, his mom would call the police on her neighbors if she heard children crying for too long, even if the family never had any problems with child abuse. That's why he thinks it's the right thing to do. Juwan also urges him to do it as quickly as possible (aw, these babies). Then Eunyung remembered everything about the neighbor lady. She was the one who reported the abuse, and Eunyung got beat up for it. He blamed her for getting him scolded, but she told him, "That was not scolding!" The lady got threatened by his dad, saying, "You crazy bitch, always poking your fucking nose into other people's affairs" while slamming her apartment door. Eunyung learned the patterns from his father and attacked the lady instead because he thought it would mean he would get love again. The scene where they were all eating happily with each other is linked to the event. The lady soon moved away. He was sad because he mistreated the lady, but relieved that he wasn't who they told him he was.
Haejoon said, "Let's go back to the dorm." Eunyung is finally smiling again.

"how great would that feel" while his soul is sobbing is really a genius panel, can be seen from multiple angles but i think that little Eunyung hurt them back cuz that all he knew he was suffering from his behaviour as well, hating your own parents can't be as simple as hating someone else..
but his mother reasoning the abuse he went through by saying he was their first, yeah of course that can be the cause but saying it won't change anything my boy already suffered enough.

This is greatly done and a realistic showing of the classic situation in real life where everyone sucks. Yes, Eunyung's parents were and still seem to be jerks. Eunyung's current actions towards them are also really bad, even if it's completely understandable as a trauma response. In the end, the cycle of pain and mistreatment will continue as long as each part thinks it's justified in response to what they suffered. Someone needs to not pass it on, but nobody wants do so. And that's understandable as well, it just doesn't change the end result - unless Eunyung realizes what is necessary to stop such a thing from happening, it won't simply stop because revenge doesn't really pay off in such a situation.

And of course it's depressing to see how Eunyung is clearly unwell, even if he outwardly he seems sadistically pleased. :(

i mean yeah that's the point. it's not healthy but sometimes it's the only way you feel like you can lash out. especially eunyung who is both a kid with no appropriate coping skills and still trapped in the abusive environment that created this behavior

It's painful how the mother cannot see how her childhood's experience is being mirrored in her son. She wants to hurt the parent that hurt her, and Eunyung wants to do the same to both his parents. If my parents acted like Eunyung's parents, I would probably have the same desire to hurt them back as Eunyung does.

Sure, the level of suffering may differ, but at no point did she stop to think that she and her husband might be the reason that their son is lashing out all the time. They just push the blame on him. At most they make some throwaway comment about their faults and immediately move on.

I feel that the only way that they can fix this is for the parents choose to be better people than they are now. They'd have to accept their faults are the reason they are in this situation and realise that reconciliation is not something that they are automatically entitled to. Don't see that happening though as the parents lack the coping skills, which the mother more or less said explicitly in this chapter when she talked about her upbringing.

Also just screw her in general for constantly being insolent with Haejoon.
