dang mate, didn't realize translation required you to do a semester's worth of research on the side to get all the references. Respect. And thanks for the tl as always, this series tackles some unique themes, and definitely takes a fresh approach in doing so with how graphic and raw it can be sometimes.

I think the translation was really good, no worries. I have seen a few manga TL's just split the difference and put the dialog as "Spirit of Water: UNDINE" or something like that, making it a proper name, but the downside is that implies something about the magic system that might not reflect the actual way it works.

I got into this series on less than a whim. I was chatting with some people online about manga and realized "there's a sudden surge of giantess manga, what's up with that", then found this when trying to see if I was right. And I absolutely do not regret it, this manga is a complete and utter wild ride.
I have no idea if it's going to get axed soon or not - I can't imagine it's super popular in Japan, and things are moving at axing speeds, but on the other hand the pace feels natural, there's no guarantee Onee-sama will actually lose here, still lots of the world to explore, and let's be honest, worse isekai have gone on to get multiple anime seasons. Even if it gets axed soon, everything so far has already been entertaining as hell. The "giants are literally just big Native Americans" thing is, uh, problematic, but that's the only real issue I have with this series.

It runs in Aokishi, a bimonthly magazine whose biggest/only really notable series is Otoyomegatari. I assume it's fine because it's not really in a situation where it's expected to do big numbers or anything.

God I love how Alice just believes in humanity despite having so little reason to. Her action scenes are just so hype!

Don't even feel bad for the girls that died
It's funny how they were so fast to get someone else killed for profit but then cry like bitches begging not to die in a heartbeat.

Also I'm glad the series had them die for what they did and didn't save them so they could slink away. Too many series would have had that happen.

Wow, I knew that reading chapter 1 of this manga would be exciting, but who would have thought it had plot twists everywhere. The manga with the genres of isekai, action, adventure, dark fantasy, shojo ai, sci-fi, and of course GORE is not for everyone, but it's quite interesting for me. I hope they can save Takeryu even though I myself am not too sure, considering the dark setting of the world. Also, thank you for translating this manga

Idk if it's intended but fun fact: The elemental spirits Alice calls out to have the same names as the elemental Mana Spirits from the Secret of Mana Series.
Those are, excepting Shade, all classic myth and folklore names for elemental spirits and spirit-like monsters with strong elemental associations/affinities. I can't begin to believe they're based off Secrets of Mana instead of any of the bajillion older sources and/or those names in a general-knowledge sense.

I've been pondering the list of references, and I've had a few ideas as well. In particular, "double spiral towers" and extremely similar phrasing is used in some classic SF and science stories to refer to DNA. There's a chance it might obliquely refer to the Mode-Gakuen Spiral Towers in Nagoya, since they're built with special kind of glass double-wall process used to reduce heating/cooling energy requirements.

I can't help but wonder if the spiral towers is actually a reference to the attacks on September 11th, 2001.

For those who don't know, that was one of the darkest days in American history. On that day, religious extremists hijacked four planes and flew them into the twin towers of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon (US Department of Defense HQ), and a field in Pennsylvania because the passengers fought back.

Eh... the spiral tower is most likely Babel Tower, given how some of those "chant" are biblical like the infant skin. And as for the Lost Vessel that's probably a reference on Noah's Ark. But then again who knows.

I found the dialog to drag on for too long and far too many dialog boxes could have been cut down. I fucking hate how many times the wendigo laughs at everything (I only know of one laughter SFX and seeing her spam that shit gets really annoying because of my hate for repetition. Especially page 36.) Too much of it didn't amount to that much as well, literally every monologue during a fight or before one felt removable. Like with chapter three mage boi. Man talked for so long only to get one tapped. Fucking hell. This chapter's for Alice was more tolerable cause character development but wendigo just talks way too much to force a fight of black and white imo.
Why are translators like this? Your job is to accurately convey the author's intention

Don't really have any idea what you're talking about in the comment you're quoting so I'll assume you're refering to some of the more drastic changes I made in the chapter in regards to dialogue (I remember the bone part most clearly as one of my frustrations when trying to decipher what the author means). My job's to accurately convey the author's intentions and the author's intentions are up to the interpretations of the translators, and that's how I interpreted some of the dialog.
