Having the school senpai with the slut + the mc with the slut from work + Hannabi being a slut at the same time without progression is getting annoying for real. Hope we get some closure to something.

Eh, no, he’s totally wrong. All Hanabi had to do when Kirigaya first started blackmailing her was go to the police. Even if he released the video, he’d just be incriminating himself further.

And now he’s gone and confessed everything to a third party. They’re in public, all Fumi has to do is make a scene and call the cops. But like I said, she won’t, because that would make too much sense and completely break the author’s idiot plotting.
If he releases the video her life is basically ruined though, in the west having such video release is already bad but in Asia it's even worse due to cultural differences

Reputation and not shaming your family / ancestors is infinitely more of a big deal in Asia so it doesn't matter if by releasing the video he goes to jail or whatever cause he still ruined her and her family, that's why what looks like dumb blackmail to us could work in Asia

to be fair aparently in Japan, police for these matters are a joke.

They dont do a damn thing unless they rly hurt you.

thats why there was that case the girl was reporting every shit a stalker did and sent to her to the police evety single time and they did nothing.

Her last msg a live was sending a report to the police saying the guy was outside her appartment but they couldnt do anything unless he did anything worse.

.... well she died.

Sorry, I can't accept the argument that it's better for Hanabi to prostitute herself than risk the video of Souma, when he was a kid, being released online. What Kirigaya has is essentially child pornography. Not only is possessing that material a serious crime, but distributing it would make things far worse for him.

And you're ignoring Fumi. She has no video. No shame at stake. Kirigaya just confessed everything to her in public. All she has to do is call the cops. The evidence is on his phone, right now. Cultural shame doesn't explain her behavior. That's just the author forcing everyone to be an idiot so the plot doesn't collapse.

So no. The threat doesn't work. The blackmailer destroys himself if he follows through. And the story falls apart the second anyone acts like a real person.

Is this the final arc or is there more after this?
Unfortunately no, it’s not the final arc, and believe it or not, the story is going to get worse. Here’s a general spoiler of what’s to come:

There are some gaps regarding the characters’ motivations. The person giving the spoilers is kind of cryptic about it, but basically, everything that’s happening was orchestrated by Hanabi’s sister. Both Kirigaya raping and sex-trafficking Hanabi, and Nanao drugging and attempting to rape the MC (she tried, but his penis didn’t get hard).

As for why Hanabi’s sister would set up these heinous acts, even against her own sister, that’s where it gets foggy. She’s messed up in the head because of trauma related to their father. The spoiler source said their father didn’t rape Hanabi’s sister, but whatever he did caused her to develop a twisted love-hate relationship with Hanabi.

As for consequences… there are basically none for anyone. Hanabi’s sister just gets a warning that if she tries any more crap like that, they’ll tell their father. Nanao is fired, and that’s it. And Kirigaya will get beaten up by the MC at some point, but that’s the maximum punishment he’ll get.

Yeah, but that’s not the same thing. In that stalking case, the police had to predict future danger. They failed, and it was awful. From what I’ve read, 43 officers were punished over it. But here? First off, Hanabi subjecting herself to sex trafficking instead of going to the police to protect Souma is surreal. If the video leaks, that sucks, but Kirigaya goes to prison for possessing and distributing child pornography. Souma survives. She survives.

And now Kirigaya has just confessed, out loud, in public, with the evidence on his phone. That’s not a “maybe he’ll do something” situation. That’s a “we got him” situation.

Even shitty police can act on that. You don’t need a great detective. You just need one cop who can say, “You just admitted to a crime. Give me your phone.” And Fumi is right there as a witness. So that real-life example doesn’t save the plot. It’s tragic, but it’s not the same thing.

Fumi still has no excuse. The author still wrote everyone like idiots. So no, “police are a joke” doesn’t fix anything here.

Ah yes, just what this dumpster fire needed. The wish fulfillment MC swooping in to save the damsel in distress that was too retarded to handle the problem herself.

All she had to do was get Hasuike to help when she saw him, call the police, start recording when confronting the dude. Or it's fine if characters don't do everything perfectly, but one of those slightly competent choices at least!

This entire storyline is gross and it doesn't even have an alright execution to justify it.

She should've recorded this interaction. Story should've ended after the schooltrip anyway.

whats worse is that nothing is probably going to happen in the next chapters and Hanabi will still be forced to go with this... lower specimen.

This whole story is fucking idiotic. There is not enough suspension of disbelief in all of humanity to make the author's garbage writing make sense. Send this guy to take some writing classes and start over after passing them.

LN Vol.2 was a mistake and should never have been adapted.
Time to shovel some more garbage into the dumpster fire that this story has become.🔥

Jesus fucking Christ, this writing is WAY beyond stupid. The motherfucker really just confessed to everything, unbelievable… All Fumi has to do is make a scene and call the cops, but she won’t, because the author can’t let anything work with common sense. Otherwise, the whole story falls apart. This is idiot plotting at its absolute finest. Seriously, I can’t believe an editor read this and approved it. It’s stupefying.

Thanks for the chapter!
She spent all that time following him. All she had to do was show up with her phone, recording audio

You are ignoring completely the social pressure on the victims that exist in Japan, why this is even a thing there.

Convictions on those cases are unreliabel and depends a lot if you can prove if this was doene for a long time AND if you pocess the proof, but there were not many convictions of those cases even with many reports.

If what you said has any truth behind it, we wouldnt see this happen IRL in JApan... but guess what it happens, not only in Doujin.
And its weid because the news don't report directly the results of the conviction, which makes it even weirder to know if they actually were arrested and stayed arrested.

I'm just saying that is naivity to assume its so simple in a flawd justice system that Japan has right now. Every week we see instances of bullshit happening there.
