It feels like the Author wanted to write some hard SA stuff but got denied, then she just shifted ths story of this manga she already had to that.

I like how characters in this manga bounce between extremes.
Kiri-whatever is his name - early on was shown as your typical ikemen or how its called - the handsome dude that can pull girls, but he jumped between being an ass who knee exactly what he was doing when he was NTRing girls from others, but then he behave like retarded SIMP around Hanabi IIRC.
Hanabi was an total toxic ass, then she realised how big of an ass she was and she even cried, then she gone mentally retarded and let herself be pushed into prostitution only cause she seems to have had a video of young MC pissing himself - which I don't think would be even considered CP if you could prove you got that video done when both of them were kids. Thou distributing it later on to dudes to make them help her make MCs life a hell could be pulled into CP distribution?
Yuki - was a normal nerdy girl, fluffy and nice, then she gone idiotic with this secretive trying to understand/help Hanabi behind the scenes.
Some other less or more stupid characters like that NTRed dude whose cheating hoe of a GF got back with him, and on the way tried to also go after MC, and said GF, the bitch who drugged MC, the sister of Hanabi.

Overall initially this was a nice manga about a dude who left a toxic relationship and found out he can be liked, can be good at things (like sport/running), and can find an actual meaningful relationship. Then some drama was added with the bitch Hanabi pulling shit behind the scenes - which was still understandable and OKish to read. Then the whole trip/Hanabi falling and realising how toxic she was thing happened, and MC and Yuki confessing/kissing. Then shit hit the fan. I forgot if its new content or it was in LN/WN but this isn't it. This is bullshit. This dropped from a OKish 7/8 romance manga, into 3/4 drama trash.

It's not only that, Yukishiro literal has zero proof he did anything, it would only be a "he said/she said" kind of situation, he'll just deny it if she went straight to the cops

And if she did go to police, in Japan, dude would counter sue her for defamation and win. In the end not only he wouldn't get into any trouble, he would get a rewards and she would get fucked.

The precipitating event is her encountering the CHF in a park roughed up. Her immediate thought is that she was just raped, to the point of pleading with her to go to the hospital. Immediately thereafter (the next chapter) the FL is back to generic rom-com stuff. I would think a normal person would have some difficulty not thinking about what just happened.
Then again, the author says that she's been "investigating" this for about a month. But we've seen her thoughts. On the day the CHF is being raped in a hotel the FL is fretting over possibly losing out on a date.
It's like there's two different stories being stitched together or something.

I'm thinking that the author is trying to juxtapose the ML and the CHF. The ML is handling their (assumed) rape the right way, they have a positive support structure, something like that. But I don't think the author is accomplishing what they are trying to do.

I also find it, I don't know the word, that the juxtaposition isn't proper. The CHF has been raped multiple times over the course of a month to protect someone else. The ML hasn't been confirmed to have been raped at all. To put it a bit provocatively, if you would have to choose, no one would choose the CHF's version. And that's because they're fundamentally different things. Which is especially odd since the author is, allegedly, a woman.

When I looked up the LN, if I remember correctly, the last chapter was called something like "Next year, just the two of us." My new hypothesis is that the author is going to have a "happy" ending where the FL offers to be the CHF's first friend. Hence the title. Something akin to "from now on, you can count on me." As if the damage hasn't already been done.

This has gone to such a different place compared with the beginning... it had potential but now is like a cheap drama, like, i think that at any moment someone with connections with either the mafia or corrupt politicians will come out.

I know now that all characters will make the absolute worst decision, at least once before everything is fixed, like i´m pretty sure this girl will go and confront him by herself, really hope i´m wrong, not because of her but because if she does, it will prove that this story cares about drama more than the story itself

Calling Hanabi an "all-around bitch" is far too light of a description for what she did. She mentally and emotionally abused the male character for years, like literally 10 years. Remember how this story starts? She summons him to her, forces him to rush over in the rain, emotionally bullies and guilt trips him, then makes a bet with her friends about how long he'll wait in the rain for her. Then laughs about it in front of him.

Does she deserve to be gang raped? Honestly, I don't know. But don't make light of what she did. Flip it around to a man who emotionally and mentally abuses and manipulates a female for 10 years. What would you want to happen to the man?

Nah, if she were actually rewriting the story, she would’ve removed Hanabi being raped and sex-trafficked. The author had all the time in the world to rewrite the manga, considering the second volume of the novel came out on 2023-12-22, but she still chose to stick with the same story. Maybe the manga and novel versions are bound by some contract or something, I dunno.

Nah, I mean the author wouldn’t have included it in the story in the first place. Since this is a novel adaptation and the second volume of the novel was released two years ago, the author had two years to consider changing the story for the manga, but decided to keep it the same as the novel.

Not every story needs to be a happy go lucky highschool romcom, there are plenty of those around already. Also, this author has many other bangers, he'll be fine.
