thank you.. for not giving up on this 🥹🙏
You did a pretty good job, mate. Be proud!Sorry for the delay! There was a lot more text this time
Also, yeah Rank 5 is a whole different game. anyone/anything who reaches that is basically recognized by the world and given insane power
Also also, let me know if you spot any typos
In these types of situations where monster races exhibit sapiens and intelligence, things shift from "because they are monsters" to "they are bandits / raiders". That they are a threat isn't diminished only that they are more of a threat because there is intelligence in addition to cunning.I was kinda wondering if there'd be some surprise from the General.
As she went around merc'ing orcs, they started having more and more....I guess "emotional" reactions to what was happening to them. Props to the artist on that front; there was a real visceral fear and anxiety in their expressions, like the lone orc on p.37.
That sort of "human-ness" had me thinking there might be more to what's going on--even as they represent a real threat to both Aria and the evacuating refugees, this is still a community of sentient beings who cooperate and look after one another.
The Level 5 Entity being of a caliber that they can even communicate with Aira really pushes just how complex this world might be. When even the monsters potentially have hopes and dreams and fears and grudges, it raises that moral ambiguity in a drastic way.
Unfortunately, Aira will kill anyone and everyone to achieve her goals and to stay alive, so simply appealing to some shared sapient sense of "why do you seek to harm us" isn't likely to stop her. It does make everything more interesting, but...they're still after the humans, so without a very compelling reason that would directly & greatly benefit Aria, I don't think this changes much in any practical sense.
Thanks for the TL and effort.

For me it doesn't change that they need to be removed, only the reasons why they need removed. Because they raided a village then killed and ate the civilians. Because they will soon move and their next likely target is village Aira is ment to be protecting.
Anime was announced over a year agoI hope this never gets an anime, the combat would surely be disappointing in comparison to the manga (I don't see Mappa or the like picking this up tbh).
Yes and no. Even two similar cultures have a hard time coming to a mutual agreements. Hells even two groups from the same culture frequently come to blows. Two wildly different cultures, especially when one views the other as food, has to have a rather compelling reason to do more then use that conversation to loosely define their boarders and or threaten each other.which is why I say I don't see this changing anything in the practical sense, unless (somehow) a group of orcs can appeal to Aria on a level that humans can't (including the one's she's currently endeavoring to save) and if they can offer her either power or agency or other benefit that the humans can't match.
And I don't really see that happening either, because while Aria wouldn't hesitate to kill humans who threaten her or her goals, I don't see this actually heading in that direction.
It's mostly just interesting to me in the sense that it opens the world up an adds a bit of depth and nuance. Suddenly her "monster enemies" can converse with her. Which, does present the possibility that something like what I mentioned above maybe happening, down the line.
