I don't really like Netorare but this is netori. Instead of the viewer being meant to derive pleasure from their stand-in being emasculated and having the person they love being taken away from them, this is the opposite: deriving the pleasure from the stand-in being the one that does the stealing.

It's still 'mean', but at least it doesn't carry the same awful connotations of 'we want the readers to get off to something terrible happening to them'.
