There will be so much less engagement if you have to be a supporter to comment on a chapter. People come to the site for the discussion as well. If they don't change it, I'm actually just going to leave. There won;t be enough supporters to fill comment sections and they aren't as good as forums.

a mod said previously that it'll be open to all users once spam filters are set up. right now it's only open to people who are Supporters, Group Leaders, and Contributors. so this is just a test run.

I've noticed that the staff just really seem to hate making announcements for anything. Every time there's discussion on the forums and elusive updates on discord before a mod gets the bright idea to make an announcement here.
