I forgot and too lazy to reread all of the dialogue (there are tons in this dialogue-heavy manga, forgive me), did he and Freya make it official yet or what? 🤔

@RonBWL Thanks for your and the rest of TOOR Scan's hard work on this translation. We really do appreciate it.

Defo one of the better isekai still. Honestly I always assumed its slow nature meant it'd get teh axe-kun like most other political isekai like this.
Nah, the author is doing a masterful job with this; taking an outlandish scenario like "A beautiful queen from another world has chosen you, of all people, to be her husband" and deconstructs the ever-loving hell out of it without turning it into A Song of Ice and Fire. (aka Game of Thrones)

Puyol spitting some facts. Very rare to see someone in a higher up position making it clear that it's not (always) the subordinates fault if something goes wrong. Typical (manga) higher ups will claim that any issues coming their way is someone else's fault. They're never reflecting on their own actions.

He definitely looks like a strong and competent general. If he were king, he would agree the buck stops with him.

Puyol didn't get to where he is at just on tactical acumen or skills as a fighting man. He is a true military leader. If Zenjirou had brought over a copy of Sun Tzu's The Art of War and transcribed it into their language, Puyol would absolutely DEMAND that it become part of the curriculum at their officers academy.

They haven't banged yet, but Freya is the official "First Concubine".
You can bet she'll want to get started on that real soon, though. As either an official second wife or just the first concubine, that's going to be an important political tie between her family and Aura's. And the only thing that is going to make that tie virtually unbreakable will be Freya getting Zenjirou to help her pump out a kid or two.

Really, it's a coup in just about every sense of the word. For one, Freya's children, being fathered by Zenjirou, will have vast magical potential in comparison to her or anyone else in her family. They will also have the slight possibility of being capable of both Spatial Magic and Crafting Magic, if not just one or the other. (And let me tell you, this is gonna seriously set the cat amongst the canaries if it does pan out that way.)

Hell, there might even be the possibility of a latent bloodline talent that's gone dormant in her family line being awakened by Zenjirou's contribution. Now wouldn't that be a scary thought? (Politically speaking, that is. The Twin Kingdoms will start screaming bloody murder if this happens.)

Freya may be ambivalent about it. It would mean that she'll have to settle down and play the part of a so-called "proper woman" for about five or even ten years, depending on how many children she bears. But maybe Aura and the example she sets can be of help there. Aura was, after all, a military officer as well, with feats and distinctions all her own. Which was incredibly rare for a woman in this society. You couldn't pay me enough to think that she wouldn't have any sympathy for Freya.

But Freya will definitely go through with it. She'll even smile about it while bearing through the arduous process of childbirth. Because she knows that even if she has to play at being a "proper woman" for a time, her kids are gonna set the world on fire. Doubly so if any of them are girls. And that will make putting up with the political malarkey and intrigues worth every moment of it.

Series really planted its flag early when Zenjirou got that offer and his reaction was “nothing is this one-sidedly beneficial” so he sat down, thought about it, and next time they met he told Aura her entire plan to prove he wasn’t tricked, then accepted with eyes open.

Also, why are they only sending letters when they can teleport someone to carry them? Can’t they just teleport the letters themselves back and forth?

What I loved even more was how when Aura apologizes to Zenjirou for getting him involved in the politics even though she promised not to, he just gives her this shit-eating smile and goes, "Well yeah, of course I never expected you to keep that promise!"

Her shocked expression was so absolutely priceless.

Because this would be like using the Pony Express just to exchange love notes. Teleportation requires a fairly significant amount of magical energy and so it comes at a premium. Usually the only people who do get this treatment are either VIP's who need to be somewhere really, REALLY fast or its people who have the funds to offer in compensation and a damn good reason for it.

Adding to that, Teleportation has a limitation of fixed checkpoint, so someone still has to go pick up the letter and deliver, which poses a risk of it getting lost. Much better to entrust someone to carry it directly.
