Taiwan being the biggest chip producer of the world is a good example of this working IRL.
Nobody would actually care about the whole China/Taiwan situtation if Taiwan wouldn't have its chip production capabilities.
I know that I'm not the only one that noticed this is talking about semiconductor industry lol.

Margaret is being sent to accompany Freya, while Ines is probably still with Zenjirou in another country. Who's going to take care of Aura and the kids? Those two are special in that they are very trusted and do odd jobs like information gathering and personal security. Clearly not your typical palace maid.

If I remember correctly the palace maids are also from noble families. So it is likely they have had special training to serve as bodyguards and information gatherers.
I would love to see a few scenes where they are discussing our protagonist.
I could see a few exchanges like "Her Majesty always seems to be in a better mood when he is with her. Let's all make sure nothing happens to him that might cause her distress."

What's great about the MC's explanation is that's our reality now except our only saving grace is government intervention. Digital markerts have allowed platforms and software to organically grow to where they a literal monopoly or an effective. Take for example Google it has such a massive market share over search engines that no one could realistically compete with it. Especially because for a search engine to compete it would need vast amounts of data (that come from users using it) to optimize its search and create a better product. So we're at a point where Google has over a 90% search engine market share and their closest competitor bing sits at under 5%. All websites, online businesses, and so on as a result are completely at the whims of Google's search algorithm and Google has completely defined SEO in digital marketing. Being on that first page is make or break for any online business and if Google truly wanted to they could really milk this and dangle these businesses by their balls. And they have in past cases. Not to a comically evil extent but enough that courts have had to force them to make changes. And that extends to so many products nowadays. Smartphones only have two realistic options for Operating System (well actually one because Apple locks there's to their devices). Same in PC where open Source Linux doesn't really provide commercial competition to Microsoft Windows or Apple MacOS. Nvidia has grown to one of the most valuable companies ever because they sell shovels during gold rushes (crypto currency mining, NFTs, and now generative AI).

In so many avenues of the "free" market we'd be completely locked down if not for direct government intervention because of what the digital markets allow. But fine, technically none of these companies are "necessary" to their industry and the existence of their product. Google could tell us to pay a million dollars to run android, but there's nothing stopping someone making a new open-source mobile OS in theory. Countries themselves have competitive advantages and things they can produce better they can use for growth and trade, but in theory NOTHING is so unique it'd be impossible for another country or company to make a replacement on some level. But here the MC paints a picture where even in theory only the royal family could provide their now essential technology.

It's a refreshing analysis from an isekai MC especially because it's one that makes sense from our modern day perspective. A global monopoly is scary enough without it being weapons manufacturing and controlled by a singular government. But what really stole me this chapter was Aura. She wasn't brain dead eye candy nodding her head but not understanding anything Mr. Isekai is saying. She not just understood but made political contributions of her own that got to the heart of the present matter Zenjirou couldn't see.

It's so great to read an Isekai where the main character brings a different perspective, but that doesn't mean the people who have been living this world and engaged in politics (as in having far more experience) don't have anything smart to say or contributions to make. Characters are treated like characters here not just props for the power fantasy. There is a lot of talking and conversations but that's what you'd expect from a political based isekai and it works because there's still conflict. It's not just one character monologuing the entire chapter as everything plays into their hand and they run circles around everyone else.

Also just general props for how Aura is being handled as a pregnant character. She's not just fridged or useless or overly sexualized. The pregnancy is there and affecting the plot, but it's not overtaking her personality, character, and compotentce entirely like it's some type of brain eating illness. And not you know a normal event of life.

Everybody mention association with chip manufacturers and problems of it stopping can cause, but somehow everyone seem to not notice the more evident truth related to Phoebus cartel.

The effects of globalization in a magical world like this would actually be pretty terrifying. From what’s been shown so far, magical abilities are completely linked to DNA, seemingly all from some common origin in the past with no modern occurrences. This means technology based on any kind of magic would give you a natural bloodline monopoly.

Instead of the usual industrial espionage, countries’ goals would literally be to steal valuable magical sperm, and engage in breeding or genetic engineering operations.
Bene Gesserit come to mind.

The one to one comparison with Electricity doesn't work since it's not like 1 country enables the creation of all electrical appliances IRL.
TSMC and ASML say hi.
I know that I'm not the only one that noticed this is talking about semiconductor industry lol.
Yes. That was the first thing that came to my mind when he talked about that.

The knowledge to build semiconductors is global. The resources needed is limited though. The US could make semiconductors, but not to the scale as other countries.

The comparison isn't the same since literally all magic tools wouldn't exist without the Sharowa royal family.

wait, Bing is the second place?
I thought it was that duck one.

If you mean Margaret, she's been around since chapter 6. If you see Aura speaking to a maid, it's most likely her.
Her profile from ch. 23
thank you

that makes them even stronger, which is zenchirou's point, though.

IMO, Zenjirou’s argument is fair, but works only if Sharowa can defend themselves (which is currently the case) and do not make too many enemies (or enemies they and their allies can’t handle).

That, and the Sharowa royal family/bloodline possessors stay united. If there is even one of them that decided to defect(or kidnapped), Sharowa’s control on the creation of bestowal magic items could disappear within a few generations.

My personal opinion is that this is probably more trouble than it’s worth. The return is high, but the risk is also high and persistent with no way of stopping once started, e.g., even if the Sharowa kingdom is destroyed (hence receive no more return from this), the bloodline holder will forever viewed as an important “asset” by the world and will never be able to live in peace due to the fact that by then everyone knows that bestowal magic tool can be created, which skyrockets the bloodline holders’ value (hence they have to deal with the risk regardless).

Tl;dr: the scheme would bring great prosperity for several generations (or more) for Sharowa kingdom, but potentially curse the royal family descendants for eternity thereafter.

Fair point on the "ability to defend themselves". I would argue that is probably the big first step, hence their insistence to get Uppsala and Capua Kingdom as shields against the North. Once they have foothold in the world, they can "hire" any other kingdoms / empires as their defenders since by then, all other countries will likely keep each other in check (no one should monopolize the Twin Kingdom since if one tries, the World will be your enemy. Thus, better to just let the Twin kingdom run themselves freely, not tied to any one entity).

But regardless, the first key step is to get your early defenders as you grow your global empire.
