why are manga so unrealistic these days. Them having any leg room is completely unbelievable and makes it hard to suspend my disbelief.

Because this particular dragon expresses they want to meet with Ruri; so it seems to be a kind of rare chance that dragon is the proactive side on communication and they want Ruri to meet with it and see what it wants

Then it greets her with a lightning bolt, then a killing intent…

Hear me out though, guys. It starts off as a silly thought, but then it sinks in that it’s something I can see author pulling on us.

What if the reason this dragon wants to meet woth Ruri is because it is looking for a bride? So, this meeting just ends with no real progress, just Ruri learning a thing or two about herself, but nothing too deep, and there’s no more communication whatsoever anymore?

It wasn’t said why they’re meeting a dragon that isn’t Ruri’s father. Ruri also doesn’t ask why and seems quite nonchalant about it, so… I get that it’s for “plot reasons,” but it still feels kind of weird to me that she didn’t even question it.

That was actually explained on the train on the way there. Ruri's mom actually questioned her about how nonchalant she was being about everything because she thought it was weird. The answer was there if you read it.

Yeah, doubt any would happen, but if it did, it'd probably be between Ruri Mama (ya know, the Dragon SLayer) and the unknown dragon.
