Uuh? I thought that school facility was essentially to force everyone into a location where they could be kept supervised, localized, and even (to some extent) coerced into self-enforcement? And that everyone were (much to mc's dismay) forced to enroll and isolated?

So why do they have an expulsion system at all?

Why is mc (or anyone else on that team) finding the news of expulsion troubling? To the extent they want to take bothersome measures to prevent it?

Was about to ask the same, yeah. "Expel me? From the place I didn't want to be in and was forced to come? Where do I sign?"

Although I suppose there might be some justification on the LN that ended being cut out on the Manga. Maybe if they do get expelled they get their powers sealed (well, if the protagonist wasn't OP as hell, but he does seem to follow the standard "don't want to stand out" Japanese Isekai protagonist thing). Or get transferred/exiled to a prison island or something.

Well if expulsion mean he just kick out from school then he probably just take it but there must be a catch. Like getting divine punishment(debuff), having his power sealed, or just have sign shady contract. Either way it's probably something bad or annoying.

I'm very surprised the -3000 SP isn't from Lala.

I think this is kind of discussed in the first chapter. The shady upperclassman girl mentions how they "could" just seal everyone's powers and send them back into society, but because they know people want to keep their powers, the system of the school where they get to fight demons/etc is essentially a deal they're brokering where they let the students keep their powers in exchange for combat labor. So the expulsion probably comes with a power-sealing at minimum, but I could also see them taking care of expelled students in a less friendly manner.

I just want to know apart from expulsion on a forced school... I wanna know why are all the returnee's so evil/edgey/bad like seriously.
Basically, it seems like there is not much of a screening method, you are just summoned. Meaning nothing stops a successful "hero" whose only goal is power and the eventual prize, or one like the MC where their "failure" comes from stopping the Dark Lord without needing to kill them.
Couple it with the social stigma of not having the success symbol, making the "successful heroes" look down on them as failures (and probably on letting many people die), you get either people eager to prove they did not need it or those who are very affected by it.

Dagnabit, mdforum acted wonky on me, here's what I tried to post:

Quoted from Lord Acton correspondance with Bishop Creighton (1887)
Is all good, I assumed autocorrect or something had done something funky considering how out of place that sentance was lol

That's what I thought, why would they even bother to not get expelled since they didn't want to be there in the first place? Or were they threatened with death upon expulsion and we're just forgetting about it?
I have 2 ideias:

They need heroes so whoever doesn't make the cut gets their memories removed and powers sealed.

It's a fake document by that teacher.

Hmm, I was wonder why MC looks troubled with expulsion? If he afraid of his power sealed after that, I really sure his power not came from so-called goddesses, so probably they can't.

But it seem you answer my question that he "don't want to stand out". What more stand-out than somebody that you think you can't control.
