I was wondering about the lich putting up a fight. Turns out he was over relying on his defense skill and had no offense to match.
I mean, Rione's body did seem a bit hurt. Not much, but it did show wear.
I wouldn't expect a dragon, of all freaking fantasy creatures, much less one incapable of higher-tier magic, to fake their defenses.
Unfortunately for the lich, she could, literally, "do this all day". And also being the pinnacle of martial arts, she was likely trying to gauge up until what level of skills it had experienced, I suppose (if we're going by her words), to see what would be the appropriate level of overkill.
So lol, lmao. And also I have to wonder what the condition for an error skill is. Is it repetition during duress? Because that was kinda how he got Aegis Shot, trying to pull a specific move a lot until it somehow worked, unless I misremember trying to make this make sense.
Also still sad there was no proper setup for this skill. Feels like the author was out of stockpiled chapters and ended up using this as a way to get an easy-to-write "arc" up for extra leeway on planning whatever comes next in the story.
