Honestly this is wayyyy better than that other manga where the MC is jobless and learns skills from other classes and if that story got an anime recently I'm really hoping this one get one too since it's way better.
I think the other story is called Hero without a Class, I might be wrong

Jobless = potential future demon lord perhaps?
my brain went that way for about 2 seconds but I just couldn't see how it would actually come about, given he's also in contact with the (currently diminished) demon lord.

Though there's a chance that, in terms of raw power scale, Cross could achieve an equivalent level of power as "the demon lord", but it would also require a lot of events converging into him being mistaken for the demon lord, from the perspective of the various nations and the Heroic Bloodline itself.

Then again, I say that, then I remember how much of the romance angle of this series is built on misdirection and miscommunication between Cross and his growing harem of admirers, and the obvious machinations of various social/political strata within just his home base nation--to say nothing of the cult also making waves--and maybe that harebrained idea has more legs than I'm giving it credit.

Her father was better than i though, he just can't see Cross potential yet like the masters, can't blame him, they just wanted to make him strong since they took a liking to him and discovered his potential later on

I almost read it a different way.

The "one in tens of millions" could go either direction; there's a chance that he knows something almost everyone else doesn't, and sees what the Mentors Three see--
A blank canvas with limitless potential.
Rather than "Jobless" meaning "weakest class incapable of being called a Job", it could be interpreted as "falling outside the Jobs system, fully unbound and unrestrained". And if I'm honest, that's precisely what Cross has become.

If anyone could see the 'other side' of Cross' situation, it would be the Hero himself.

Him saying it's "regrettable" is still something I can't square with that idea as of now, but it would depend on whether there's some precedent for another "jobless" in the annals of history, and what became of them.
Could be that Cross's "Jobless" title could make him incompatible with the Heroic bloodline, somehow, or something. So it's not "regrettable" because he sees Cross as not worthy of Elysia, but because the closeness between them is going to run up against something that he believes they can't overcome.

**actually, I'll tack on what @zeinzki made note of. Even if her dad has no issue with the Jobless thing, there's a reality that Cross is still largely looked down upon by everyone, entirely because of that title. And going alongside the Hero, would be politically and socially problematic (like hugely so).
And I think that's a very big part of it, in this case, or at least a facet that's easily identifiable without making guessing about the larger untold lore of the setting.
I can see this, the undercurrent of all their dialogue implies that Cross has become a rather important political figure. Uniting his duke simp friend faction, and becoming romantically involved with the inheritor of the country's strongest sounds like a plan to establish a new kingdom or outright revolt. The ties the kingdom has to not having the s-ranks rampage is wholly dependent on cross right now too. We know he's important because he's the protagonist, but i dont think anyone else realizes just how much he can overturn the kingdom right now. And truly him not understanding romance or affection whatsoever is the basis, cause when he decides on that is when all the chips will fall into place for how any of these ends conclude.

I suspect it's regrettable for a compatibility perspective rather than power. The HERO class might upgrade job abilities within their party for example.

...So the dad says it's regrettable that Cross is a jobless, is it because he's pretty much the supposed "trash class" therefore not a pedigree to pair with Hero-girl Elysia?

I'm wondering who will be stronger: Cross's teachers/stalkers or the Hero?
Based on how these stories go and how author seems to be railroading Cross into Hero girl's route, it's likely Hero girl. Based on the title I assumed we'll finally get a real harem story, but it's more looking like a railroading into one route again. So pretty much another bait and switch like Danmachi where you swap Cross for Bell and Elysia for Ais. In difficulty if they'll duke it out I guess author won't make it TOO easy... his masters would likely be atleast the difficulty of hidden boss characters who Hero-class girl will be able to eventually defeat.

Elysia's dad seems fine, but still not fully convinced of his future son-in-laws potential. If 'jobless' is actually such a rare job, it is no wonder he wouldn't know much about it, unless you have several different monster mentors it wouldn't shine afterall.

Sera and the other three keeping themselves occupied, so Elysia can enjoy her date.

Jobless = potential future demon lord perhaps?
Just my theory/thoughts here:
He's probably possessed by a fragment of the former Demon Lord after he defeated the core of the abnormally big Hydra Slime (it probably got that huge due to possessing the Demon Lord's soul fragment) . In Chapter 2 (no links here since it was taken down), there's a page there where a high-handed voice talking about building a foundation after he was knocked out, guessing that's where his unique skill comes from.
There's also a page in Chapter 30 where Solty talks about the heroes not being able to finish the former Demon Lord properly, so there's a good chance he's possessed by the last fragment of the former Demon Lord. Though from the looks of Chapter 2, it was getting weak, but we don't know it's current status in the latest chapters. I'm guessing he might get possessed by it in the future and fights it off, but inherits its powers (or atleast that growth skill) or it disappears quietly, but he inherits its power/s. Either way, it might lead to the birth of a complete Demon Lord (Solty finally inheriting the title and rights)

Obviously jobless are looked down upon as weak therefore not suitable to marry into the hero lineage, but Cross' ultimate goal regarding Elysia is to beat the Demon God in her stead thus releasing her from the burden of the hero's lineage and letting her live freely. I'm guessing the strength necessary to do that is also enough to beat his 3 masters combined which would fulfill their goal of finding a husband stronger than themselves. All roads lead to the Demon God subjugation

Everyone.

Oh fuck you. Now I will need to de-dust the BR and rewatch it again.

Also as a petanko enjoyer Giselle, that other girl in their group and the electric kiddo he helped form the best girls group. But if I add hair styles/clothing in the mix and personality - then the "other girl" kinda drops out of the roster cause she barely does anything and isn't probably even in the race for MCs waifu position. Giselle asshole behaviour early on kinda reduces her score enough that the electric-chan even thou she has short hair raises to like 1st position.

If only Hero-chan didn't have such huge tits, she would be a strong 1st place. But she does, so she is strong 2nd, closer to Electric-chan than to the Giselle/others. Stalker cat-chan is around Giselle level, cause she older so kinda eh - not that big of a fan of to big of an age gap - even thou her tits size kinda fluctuate depending on the mood of the artists it seems, she is still in the middle of the pack so not an issue. Heck if I was choosing for myself the age thing would completely change the order, cause all the MC age girls would get kicked out and Stalker-chan would be #1 ;).

The age and rack sizes basically push the trio cougars teachers of his to last positions.

Also this story basically demands a harem ending. Hero-chan with potential help of her dad, trio of S-class adventurers, Stalker-chan - if those alone would fight for MC to be their hubby - the whole planet would be in jeopardy. And with MC getting stronger and stronger some nobles would probably look his way like that "gay-lord" who is already into him, which could create a lot of friction/battles where noble families would try to make him theirs by having some woman in their family try to bone him for kids or stuff. Giselle and Electric-chan would probably train to get at least partially as strong as MC to be able to walk next to him, which in turn would also make them dangerous in this battle.

Question is thou - if MC would decide harem is the answer to stop potential world ending disaster, would the girl manage to come to some rules of "engagement" with MC or fight for his affections would still continue risking the planet safety?

Wait. If her father is okay with her moderating her training, who was forcing her to train so harder it was counter productive?

sooooo. .... we can all say that's set in stone now right? i mean his symbol is a circle and the heroine have an "X" so it was hinted since the very start but if he land on the only possibility to be jobless in various millions HE is the one no? must be.

Exactly...from where I sit, there's 3 ways this should end. Cross dies (no one gets him), just end without answering the question (the Beelzebub solution) OR.....Harem ending. The last one I think is the best outcome and we all want the best outcome.
