Broken triangles are a bitter food indeed...

I loved how Erika is so bad at trying to win Koto's heart that she ends up giving her free relationship therapy instead.

I can't wait for next month's chapter, Kumagaya's "Have you ever been spirited away?" comment has me counting down the days already. Thanks for the translation!

Thanks for the chapter!

Maybe i just never had an intense romance at their age/if not super strong bond at that age but i'd def wanna focus more on a plot time job/focus on saving money and such even if the gov wasn't questioning my existence

Oh wow, surprised her employer knows. Unless she like, looked up her name and found a newspaper article b/c they didn't buy a new identity for her

So what kind of superhuman powers of perception does Kumuguya even have lol

A lot of us have trouble picking up on even blatant hints that someone's attracted to us while here she is able to sniff out someone having been spirited away? I understand she apparently knows someone it happened to and Aya's a bit suspicious, but that still takes a very keen eye...or some additional information she gathered from somewhere.

My boring guess is she was also spirited away or knows someone who was, and did some basic research around the girl she was hiring, since there would be online newspaper archives that mentioned Aya's disappearance.

Japan does tend to have some casual belief about shrines and such even if they don't go outta their way to become monks/shrine maidens (and the "haunted"/stigmatized ghost apartments being 'cheaper' or so), but I just always assume the "new year shrine visit" was more of a 'tradition' than serious 'belief' where they go to draw their luck fortune versus praying to a specific god (tho i know there's etiquette and specifications on 'how' to pray/a number of time to bow and clap but at the very least it's treated as more respectful, or some more 'lighthearted' series just having a trope of someone that has more of a 'spiritual' sense)

Or she simply is acquainted with one of the ex theatre club members too but it's probably just a plot device or so. if not that one male teenager's parent/relative also being spirited away and that's why he's so standoffish?

Erika is back to being the voice of reason. Even with her "ulterior motives" she can't help but try and soothe Koto in a way that will make Aya and Koto reunite (maybe?)
Also that lady must have looked up Aya and saw an article about her vanishing. With Aya looking exactly like she did back then and telling her she is the same age as when she went missing...she probably connected the dots. (She seems to be aware that being spirited away is a thing)

Yeah it seems the other boy working there (Takuma) was also spirited away, with how Kumuguya says Aya reminds her of him immediately before asking Aya if she'd been spirited away.
Looking up newspaper articles makes a lot of sense. Definitely more sense than Kumuguya having near superhuman levels of perception and thinking "you just come off as the type of person that might've been spirited away" lol.

I'm glad Erika is once again the voice of reason and being annoyed that someone can't move on is really rich coming from her...

Being hypocritical is part of human nature, but it's not as if they're dysfunctional otherwise, at least they didn't go with the angle of "X became a shut in neet/hikki after the disappearance"

I do wonder if they'll be able to go back in time/some kinda branching timeline or her staying in the 'future' and moving on
