Scenes serving purely for shock value falls under this, and if you think about it even fluffy romance stories that doesn't build up to anything but "sweet moments" would fall under that.


It is not worthless, there are people who like that sort of thing, don't think too much about the story but how reading the story makes you feel in the moment (A valid way to enjoy media). For that, I'm sure these kinds of stories are thrilling. But to me, these stories leave an unpleasant aftertaste no matter the "good ending" - and nothing to chew on but a pile of shit.

Yeah skimming the webnovel, and it was one of the worst experiences of my life 0/10 would not recommend. Author tries to make the punishments satisfying but it wasnt, he tries to make the remorse and redemption worthwhile it wasnt. Just overall a shite reading experience. Well I already some part in WN and it's really heartbreaking for me from their POV Saint, Wizard and Knight

They're not horrible just like you think

Back then on the journey to conquer labyrinth Yamada the MC really inspired them.

Mika the saint is like robot in the past because her job that risked her life but thanks to MC she gained emotion, find her favorite with sweet cake like apple pie and help villagers.

Angelica the wizard because her disease she don't have friends or family that supports her. But MC is the first and help her research magic.

Eris the knight call MC as her master. She find her passion with sword when training with MC. He give Holy Sword to defeat boss.

You can see why they falling in love with MC. But after they got brainwashed from Hero they become horrible.

Mika never help people she almost kill them because Hero's order. Angelica never research magic she never contact with Purume her mother figure. Eris cannot use holy sword properly. Hero never train with her.

Funny though while they got brainwashed, I don't think Hero trying to rape them. From his POV he don't like them especially Eris he think she's gorilla with that incredible strength.

I was heartbreaking the part when MC ignored by those girl after their journey together. He want to talk them but instead get mocked by Hero. When MC meet them again they call him coward.

It's getting devastated when they finally realize what they did to MC. They crying and say sorry many times. Mika trying to sacrifice her life and consider to seclude in monastery. MC accept their apologies but still can't forget what happen in the past. They want MC accept their love but unfortunately it's too late he's already find true heroines.

Reading this part make me hope that author consider make harem ending or alternate ending they deserve happiness especially for Mika.
