Nah man. This is one of those things I never really realized growing up but eventually when I started reading manga I realized people made fun of those who self inserted. So I tried not to... only to realize I usually end up putting myself into the shoes of the protagonist in most things I read and I had no way to stop myself from doing so (that I could tell anyways). Initially I just lashed out at those people calling them sociopaths since they didn't have empathy and could laugh at the suffering of the mc... I stopped reading this because you didn't mention the huge difference between the two. One being an isekai and the dude is alone in another world while the other is a pretty established adventurer who even without cheats could move on normally.

I dont think this manga was created/planned with like 20 chaps. So his progression is almost instandly, unlike some others like in Naruto for example.

Also he did sulk he just got broken powers unlike the MC in this one who had to work for his strength. This dude is here alone and is getting traumatized. Japanese protagonists and their self esteem issues am I right.
