I am of the belief that she has known it’s him from the start. Perhaps she started off fully drunk but I think now she just uses it as a confidence booster and keeps it to cover herself. Imagine if one chapter Ishizumi sees one of her empty cans and she’s started drinking 0.0% beer or something and it’s all just her way of keeping the facade because she’s still too shy to reveal it.

That last moment would have hit harder if she knew who she was actually talking to. And we weren't about to embark on an arc where she's about to be jealous about another man (in her mind) and his potential marriage match. Author is really about to put themselves in a corner. Where in her mind, they're dating but she's catching feeling for another person. It just makes her look bad imo.

It was used to show respect to the Achaemenid emperors, then Alexander the Great thought it was fun and adopted it, and from there it diffused to Byzantine emperors and also a number of ceremonies in catholic and orthodox Christianity. It pretty much disappeared after the Middle Ages, but I did see it once in a film, can’t remember its name, something about Jesus coming back to life in the present day and being slightly put off when a church high ranking official does a proskynesis in front of him…
