That said I still get the feeling Ibelina will think he's saying it because he's worried she'll leave him, like marriage as a bond more than a romance. Then she'll proceed to gently explain that as a noble he must find someone suitable and someone he loves, but she'll always support him or something like that.

and ya, unfortunately I see this shit happen in a lot of manga where people just forget or straight out ignore any and all context of the story and characters and just demand instant romance between characters without question :/ and when it doesn't, they start flaming/downvoting the manga -_-

Yeah @codydub03 unfortunately even though she was supposed to also have a modern woman mindset on top of the maid one, it seems a Japanese mindset is usually depicted as even denser 😅

I dont understand why most of u guys are calling her dense/stupid. Shes actually calm and rational hence her actions towards alejandro. She sees herself as an outsider(reader of the novel) and furthermore alejandro is still a kid why would she be having feelings for someone she cared like a younger brother? I actually appreciate that the author might wanna wait till hes at least 17 or 18 for ibelina to return his feelings. At this point ibelina just wanna make sure alejandro wont end up just like in the novel so there are no such thing as romance in her head
