Honestly, this manga makes me fall in love with Mitsumi way way way too much now and really hope that Shima can really change to deserve her.

Shima it’s not fair to feel disappointed in her answer when you put up a good front and she couldn’t see past the facade. Then again, she’s not wrong!
I think Shima doesn’t realize not all of it is fake, he is a good person. Maybe not to everyone but to who he’s close to.
He kind to her more than anyone else since the beginning.

The looks in this chapter were just too cute! Poor Shima really could have used a friend to get him on Mitsumi's level

i often find montages during emotional moments to be a lil corny-cop-out-y (when theyre not campy-goofy-fun like if ur gonna do it go all out!!!)

heavy hitter chapter, sheesh. The cutoff page after Mitsumi's answer and the page paralleling Yasaka's "Just love me" page from last chapter especially bowled right over me but the "I'll catch up to you" page picked me up off the ground. The loafer... he wants to stay by the skipper's side........ gosh.......................

I love that for all the pieces between these characters that don't quite mesh up properly (not just for Mitsumi and Shima! Mika with those around her, and Makoto and Yuzu come to mind, for example), we get moments like this chapter where they work to make a change that will maybe make those pieces fit together. To love and be loved is to change, or something like that lol

Yes! It's also funny, Mitsumi's childhood friend pointed that out too in the previous chapters. Shima just believed she was this girl that had it all figured out, so everything she says must be right. Meanwhille, Mitsumi's friend was like, nah she is smart when it comes to school, and useless when it comes to everything else. I just checked, that was chapter 52 towards the end.

You can tell from the panels and all the ellipsis that Mitsumi just gave a surface-level answer to the "what did you like about me" question. It's embarrassing to answer that, esp when it's, y'know, your ex you're trying to stay friends with lol. Silly Shima... Like she's gonna start gushing about all your flaws she finds cute here in this cafe!
