hehehe I'm with you there about Shima, Mutsumi is giving her all to maintain it as platonic as possible, he shouldn't ask for more if he isn't ready to advance. That chapter ending, Mitsumi was damn skilful!
I think Yasaka is deeply broken. It's not about what others think of or imagine her to be, but also the way she leads them on to believe in certain things that are not there. Mitsumi's perception is right: Yasaka has her own way of thinking, her own world, that can't be interfere with or intervene. If it were me, I wouldn't establish or have a connection with Yasaka because we are too different and I don't have the energy or capacity to be with her. So, I got to give it to our girl, Mitsumi!
And for me, Shima deserves every bit that came after his ignorance to his own feelings and Mitsumi's ordeal; even if they're very small details that upset him 🤷♂️
I don't think she's evil and does it just for pleasure, she also has a distorted view that other people need attention just like her, so they should be grateful for that. But she kind of plays with other people's feelings, that's why she says she wins or loses. I understand her feelings, but I understand other people's feelings too. You being hurt doesn't make the hurt you caused other people any less painful. In the end, everything is a choice, she is also aware that people hate what she does and she doesn't try to understand, instead she accuses people of not understanding her. And that's funny, a character without parental love acting like a spoiled child. So I feel sad for her, but I hate her too
Thanks for the update!
chapter really shown what Yasaka was doing is wrong, we already got some moments like that before, and the best part is that we got from her POV and Mutsumi's too, specially in this one with the funny faces.I think a lot more of you are giving Yasaka too much benefit of the doubt just because she's a teenager. It'd be one thing if she was just super friendly and that was being taken the wrong way but she is actively hurting other people. That's not just a "teenage mistake". But that's what makes her intersting. Her and Shima have deeply rooted character flaws that go beyond normal teenage school drama. One is active while the other is reactive and gives a new perspective on how things stick with you.
Mutsumi being from the countryside weird enough has a lot of space to empathize with other and wanting to learn about other people even when her thinking can be narrow she wants to learn and help if she can (her family case helps a lot too on that point), the end of the chapter was super similar when she break up with Shima even if what happened wouldn't solve everything just giving them some warm and genuine care can help them by leaps and bounds as Yatsuka got tear eyed by Mutsumi wanting to help her without getting anything for her.
problem is Shima learned what he did affected others and went super passive with his interactions with girls to mantain a status quo with the boys, so Yasaka choose the other route and pretty much doesn't have any friends. (it also helps that Shima at least has a childhood friend from his time as actor as he had some support when the thing with his mom blew up)I hope you keep that energy with Shima because he's the same as Yasaka
