I'm not really sure whats going on and honestly watching this guy slaughter like 50 women doesn't really sit right with me. first few chapters of
The women killed are part of the group who raided and plundered the village and are fleeing the country led by the rebel noble.
The young princess' party are there to kill them, not knowing there are soldiers and a noble involved.
The messiness after the first several chapters doesn't help and we don't get any scenes of the attack on the village by the female group just the gruesome aftermath which would work fine if the fleeing group were not shown as incompetent and barely threatening.
There were no traps set up to stall any would-be pursuers, no separate or mixed tactics from them showing their experience in battle and raiding, we don't see anything like experienced soldiers and bandits. The mc Faust doesn't get pulled off his horse, they are in range of the sword and the path of the horse all the time etc.
Caroline comes off as this caring and virtuous noble without the rebellious attitude, ruthlessness and desperation she probably should have at this point.
It's jarring.
The main characters were supposed to be facing a formidable force with little chance of any of them surviving long enough for reinforcements to arrive but we see they barely have any issues dealing with them.
They don't feel like something to be feared.
