Why do isekai MCs always just to happen to remember some extremely specific and relatively complex shit that you shouldn't be able to remember unless you really were into it or had great memory?

Or maybe that is normal and I'm an idiot with a shit memory who forgets technical stuff unless I'm really invested or study really hard.

@Acolytus

don't forget that in this case the MC had time to prepare for his transportation and knew where he was going.
if i was in his situation i would have spent some of my time before getting teleported doing research on technology and things that i could bring with me too improve mine and everyone's living conditions.
he actually did this to some extent, but he seem to have been to shallow in his research so a lot of the things he tried so far have failed outside of the machines he brought with him.
but knowing where to look for breakthroes in technology is a helluva lot easyer then improving things from scratch.
so its not really that strange that he knows alot of random information.

ofc in alot of other mangas the MC just happens to know this from his backstory for no reason whatsoever.
and i totally agree that those are kind of stretching the limits, a good example of this is "Release that Witch"
if you like this manga, give it a try.

@Goldenzeal Yeah, I get that. What I was wondering is what happened with him. Haven't seen the child in a couple chapters and he's talking about mastering teleportation magic before the birth of his 'next' child because he doesn't want to feel powerless again. Almost makes it sound like something happened to his first child.

Its not that something happend, its rahter that something did NOT happen.
he thinks himself weak and unable to protect his family.
so he wants to get stronger before the number of people he needs to protect grow any larger.

This chapter just emphasizes once again how fucking stupid the MC is. It's great that he has all this random almost-useful knowledge, but you know what would have been better? Using that ENTIRE MONTH of warning he had to buy some fucking engineering textbooks instead of video games and jerkoff material.

even after reading the link CraniumAmbiguity posted im still having issues with the water wheel stuff. i have little knowledge in engineering or fluid dynamics so ill ask a couple questions.
1. co-prime number of teeth with what exactly? its water, not another gear so why is (im guessing the author) saying co-prime instead of prime?
2. why does it have to be a (co)prime number of teeth when its just water? the link said with gears it more evenly distributes the wear, but all it is is flowing water so the wheel rotating should (im my mind at least) add equal wear on the teeth and shaft as it rotates, so why does it matter?

Thanks for the new chapter.

He should teach whatever he knows about mathematics, physics and chemistry: that would prove way more beneficial than producing soap. By the way, we have proof of soap existence dating back to 2800BC, and a written recipe from 2200BC. I find hard to believe they don't have soap in this world...

@Amoorhen I'm not that knowledgeable in engineering as well, but I am guessing they meant the gears connected to the larger wheel that the water turns. Not the outside wheel itself. I mean the whole mechanism wouldn't work with just the outside wheel.

On a quick look up, apparently, the temperature for forging steel is much lower (<1000C) than for melting glass (1400C~1600C). Smelting iron is about 1200C. The melting point of iron is just about the same as glass, but apparently, you can still make steel swords with less heat.

Your husband is an idiot, he could of downloaded entire wikipedia on a flash drive! You would of had all the knowledge of modern world, not only how to make glass or shitty wills, EVERYTHING. modern guns, medicine, microprocessors, political structure, historical events, cooking, architecture, morals, philosophy, war tactics, information control.... Where is so much just with spending few hours to download. he is a fucking moron.
