Yep, he's another one of those. The LN has his name as "Viro".
For a kid, 35 is an old man.
They're a bit inconsistent with the pronouns for her, although there's a logic to it. Just not sure if it's apparent for people who haven't read the LN.
While she's talking about the range of the thrust skill, what's used more is that it's just a stronger attack than a normal thrust, so it penetrates better.
Part of what I like about the story is that they take care of equipment maintenance. And combat does indeed wear down blades much more than tool use.
All of them blacksmiths are dorfs.
