I was in support of Bernie in 2016
eugh, you're a populist... semi /s

then he basically submitted to Hillary
What choice did he have? His voters were very vocal about wanting to cast "Fuck you" votes and I'm sure the Democrats were threatening to metaphorically string him up a tree if he didn't cede and publicly support a candidate.
-------
There's multiple reasons why he was blackballed.

Bernie was cut off mainly because there is way too much connecting him to communism and communist sympathizers. And a lot of it is well documented.

Americans are, sadly but fortunately, more likely to stomach pedophilia, corruption and incestual behavior in a politician rather than someone who has communist sympathies. I still can't believe the only difference between both candidates this election was the letter associated with their brand of shared belief.

The Democrats might be idiots in regards to quashing party fracturing, but they sure as hell know when to blacklist someone.

Bernie also had a similar level of political slander/taint as Hillary despite not being as famous or prominent. Unlike Hillary, all of his taint was accrued extremely fast from his followers mainly being textbook young voters; situationally and conveniently uninformed, easily impassioned due the the immaturity of youth, and had a constant tendency to speak out on their candidate's behalf always putting him in really painful positions.

Unfortunately as we've seen with Trump in regards to his base, anything and everything can define a politician.

Now don't get me wrong, I only sort of believe he's a communist, but socialism is the form of government used as a transitional stage for communism. Mainly considering its all about developing a strong public dependence on an overreaching government with heavy taxation. Is he quite possibly a useful idiot? Perhaps. Or does he have a self-interested agenda like every other politician? Most likely.

Regardless, socialism is a word that has lost all meaning because the people promoting it control the institutions in charge of language definitions and ideological discourse and have managed to beat it out of shape like the word fascism has been.

all for a virus with an incredibly high survival rate.

Just saying for people like me the long term after-effects are not fun but hey whatever it takes for freedom.

It's more important to be free and unsafe than to be safe but no free. You can choose to isolate or self-quarantine, but there are people in society who are unable to afford the costs of covid, people who's entire livelihoods are at stake.

There is no safer place than a prison cell, but it is a terrible way to live, for instance.

The rights we have are meant to be inalienable, meaning they cannot be separated from us under any circumstances. The right to peaceful assembly, freedom of speech, bodily autonomy, and life, liberty and pursuit of happiness are rights that are innate within us all, and for the government to restrict these rights, no matter the excuse or reason, will do irreparable harm to not only the public good. These are the conditions that revolutions are started.

No matter how noble the reason, the longer these violations persist with indefinite conclusion will lead only to further disenfranchisement, and only worse long-term effects. It is better to die young and free than long and miserable, after all.

Let's just say while I'm not in a dire strait I'm definitely nowhere close to being a healthy specimen. So while I likely won't die it ain't going to be 'happy fun time'.

Of course this all assumes the reports are precise: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/long-term-effects.html

Edit: Actually now that I think about it, loss of taste would truly suck as I can and have consume obscene amounts of spice.

Some friends who've had it said it tastes like charcoal (idk how they know what charcoal tastes like) and cardboard (I've had cardboard in my mouth before so I can understand that one). Different things can taste differently tho.

@EOTFOFYL
Sucks bro. It's even fucked over athletes after they pass it. If it's any consolation, I saw a post on /x/ saying that COVID alters our lungs for interstellar travel, so if that's true then you have something to look forward to.

Idk about everyone else, but I'm getting my v a c c as soon as they let me out of this padded room.

Speaking of which. Donald didn't pardon the QAnon Shaman, robbing the GOP of a great nominee.
And he looked so good in that chair...

@EOTFOFYL Yet something tells me, even with criminal charges against him, the QAnon Shaman still has a better chance at getting the nomination than Bernard, no meme.

Yo, man! I saw you edited your post two days after originally posting it!
your argument is the same one used against people who put politics in their art. It typically goes something like "why put politics in this show, I don't want to think about it here." Which is a very self-centered way of thinking.
This is almost as off-target as your last analysis. We're not talking about a work of art here; we're talking about a forum on a manga site. A forum that has a thread titled "The Politics Megathread", which even my cousin's three-legged dog could conjecture is the appropriate place to mention currently relevant and divisive political topics, as well as to ping you with a response to a post made in a now-locked thread.

To argue that politics in art is not a new concept is such an amiss counterpoint that I wonder if the context here has been overlooked entirely. If "everything is political", then how about you go to your local supermarket and strike up a political conversation with the woman giving out free samples of cheese?
