This manga is one of the rare ones (and it's an isekai to boot) where I can't find any faults in how it tells its story to its audience, and every chapter is a treat to read. I'm tempted to put this in my top echelon with Golden Kamuy, Dungeon Meshi, and The Fable.

Yeah, it’s a shame that it was soiled twofold - one that the publisher who picked up the manga went bankrupt, and two that nobody will pick it up again because the guy Purchinov was based on started a fucking war

Honestly, the war part wouldn't have been a problem if the guy starting the war had been remotely as cool as the earlier propaganda had made him out to be. Instead, constant, whiny appeals for negotiations and being betrayed and lied too, all while some pointless trench warfare grinds on. When your country's own nationalists consider your a weasly, spineless coward who is probably just out to get his own people killed for a political/financial power game...well, it's not a good look. I genuinely don't call it "Isekai Putin" anymore because it would be an insult to Purchinov.

Purchinov uses diplomacy until he needs force, and then he uses it boldly, bravely, swiftly and lethally (and you'll notice it almost always targets the leaders of the enemy forces, not their soldiers or civilians as much, if the latter ever). Those who must die, die, and the war wraps up quickly. Then, there is a swift return to a better peace. Purchinov is the kind of peacetime and wartime leader humanity needs and Russia especially. Instead, we have to deal with the real ones: former gangsters and businessmen who would sooner see their own people slaughtered than possibly harm their respected "peers".

He had authentic and organic high approval when he started the war (because most human beings get excited at the unification of their people, and literally always have: Source, everywhere in history) but it fell off (like it does literally everywhere), when it turned out the war wasn't quick, wasn't good, and that the Promised promises weren't actually promises or what was promised (Seriously, listening to any of his speeches is comically demoralizing if one is actually a Russian Nationalist.)

One could compare it America where many polls are probably faked or unrepresentative or only reflecting moods that are out of date...just more extremely so, because of even greater incompetency and corruption over there.

I was talking about Chechnia, back before he had much power and his ratings were low. After the massacre his approval ratings went to over 80

Of course everyone knows his approval ratings now are fake. And they are dropping mostly because they see his weakness
