"Let's call it the Unified States to make sure the real US can't get angry" "Okay, what about a more specific location?" "I dunno, just call it Arkansas, nobody gives a shit about Arkansas."

the sad truth about this is the realism in it in war the longer it goes the more people forget the reason they fight for its a place where good turns to bad and bad turns to good its a place where the longer it goes the more the white and the black mesh together forming a gray where all thst lies is the desire to avange those who have fallen its the reason i believe that if war cannot be stopped then make sure you fight with a clear purpose not with emotion in war emotion has no place the more emphaty you have for the fallen the more you will rage to avenge them leading to a cycle of never ending conflict

I don't understand how there are people saying the Sue's daughter has no right to be angry at the "Devil of the Rhine". She has every right to do so. She just lost her deared father, the one who did his best defending their homeland and died during the effort. Even if it's his country started the war, he only tried to defend its sovereignty, and he died. Does she need to know that the "Devil of the Rhine" also only defended his/her homeland? No. Like you don't need to know a killer killed an entire gang of killers and rapists but no one can prove or even know they are except for the killer himself before condemning him as a disgusting killer of cold blood. That's just what happen. Unless you are a German, or a Japanese being taught about the sins and shame of your father/grandfather's generation waging war, you are going to have every right to be angry about it.

"Victory to the Empire!" They shout, as they send an (exhausted by this point, after the grueling rearguard action) ten year old child into an untested, one-of-a-kind practically suicide mission as far behind the enemy lines as it gets.

Feh.

oh yes, the guys who may not have ever fought on the front line are nervous to the point he can't eat... Don't know if its been mentioned but is a lot of the empires economy war based?

If only that little girl knew the gods... Wonder if she will see the real evil.

Does the new guy seem like he has a death flag looming over him?

rockets have some problems due to their speed and what level of the atmosphere they hit. The buggers can build up a charge on the ship which can cause damage or other problems. Ships that carry satellites have to mitigate it pretty well as they are a bit more bare boned.

this war going on so long, everyone is adapting with the fact a child is on battlefield, treat her like grow up adult and hero then devil.

i got some thinking:
tanya is just a tool, that opening god "bla bla" about faith may hold some true but i think he just need a lamb to get more faith in other world.
Then other god kick in for another lamb, cause they are experimenting "dire situation, more faith" with prolong of the war

in the end, job is done. he might be take out again but with another world mission

It's really funny seeing people shit on Mary Sue for being aggrieved when if YS was a more standard war piece, it'd make her the protagonist, or at least the sympathetic rookie who eats shit like Grantz. She's not even portrayed as a raving lunatic like in the Anime. Meanwhile, Tanya is Patrick Bateman in a loli body, and will tell you as such.

As expected of protagonist power.

People hating on a girl literally named Mary Sue (sic!) are making my sides hurt from laughing. Hello, did you all lost your prescriptions or something? This girl was literally chosen by gods. Three gods, to be precise. The sick irony is that, all three of them merely chose a semi-random person to receive a blessing in order to remind people of deities' existence since the level of faith has lowered in this world. But they independently from each other chose the same girl. Check Mary Sue trope, if you somehow are unaware of it.

This child is naive and simple, yes, but you are really letting your personal opinions screw your perception of the story. She will be religious, she was made that way by higher forces. She acts exactly as she is supposed to inside this setting.

I have only one explanation as to why some people fail to understand which was both shown and said to us: people don't read and don't remember stuff. Tsk-tsk, it's not author's fault that you don't read the provided material and then can't comprehend something. How unbecoming.

My eyes hurt from people saying Mary Sue is the good one, should be the protag and stuff. Yes, she has every right to be angry at Tanya on a personal level. But that doesn't make Tanya evil because it's the freaking risks of being in war. Her dad new the consequences. Each countries view the the other party as the evil one but take note LEA invaded on Empire's territory first and Empire wasn't even budging. No matter how sick Tanya is being portrayed the story indicated Tanya has self control I.E. the men they took and interrigated on the rhine front were treated properly as POWs. Can you spare an enemy in battlefield? Fat chance the enemy won't fight back. It's and order and you fave execution if desired. It's a freakin warzone. Each second might be your last and you're fighting to survive first and formost, fighting for your country is second. Mary Sue has every right to be angry, but her sense of righteousness is on the wrong track and shouldn't blame it entirely on Tanya. Might as well blame LEA's army officers and Anson Sue himself for that as well. Mary is not bad if she wants to kill the Tanya. But people telling Tanya was sicker than Mary and therefore should be killed is a whole different thing.
This is just deductions but as shown in a certain chapter Tanya might be heading up a PMC or somesort if all of her subordinates followed her that is. I only looked up the spoiler part where Tanya is alive somewhere and that's it. As for the rest of the events I did not look at it.

In page 63 I just always hear the ding SFX from funerals when it shows Tanya's expression. Everytime this happens, like with the Waku*2 South Park reference and the entirety of How the hell did this happen to me?, I am simply amazed by the capabilities of Manga as a medium

It's just fucking ink and they manage to deliver this!

Mary Sue's dialogue is nonsensical bullshit.... as... as expected of a Mary Sue, I guess.

"If God truly exists, he wouldn't have let the devil run rampant, or forgiven the empire." (Logical conclusion: Those things did happen, ergo God doesn't exist)
Literally the next fucking page:
"God!! Has told me what I should do!!"

Yeah... if nothing else she is truly living up to her trope... complete with the hair-wings and excessive shoujo-style drawing.
Not really sure what to make of her being awful when she is DELIBERATELY awful.

this was a better reveal to mary sue finding out who killed her dad rather than her joining the us volunteer force and conveniently encountering tanya who happened to be using her dad's gun like what happened in the movie.

Lol. There's nothing to forgive the Empire for. They were invaded by your country first and fought back. No matter how terrible Tanya is, she still has just cause to fight. These people are simply invaders.

Meh Mary sue, and her father always act like they are the victim when their country are the ones that started the war with the empire. good thing they were destroyed by their own arrogance
