@scranity welcome to feudal politics. Aside from the magicky isekai bit, this is basically what happens in the aristocracy, and humanity in general. Everyone has their slice of the pie, and when given the chance to snatch a bigger slice, they do exactly that. It's part greed and ambition, partly just a means of surviving their environments.
Considering the fact that the mc is literally enemies with nearly everybody, and she's decided this to be her revenge life, everything is going exactly as we should expect. And it's being written and drawn quite well for what it is.
And now, we've got new characters to expand the web of drama and influencing, things going against the mc's remembered history thanks to butterfly effects of the changes she made unwittingly,, and the whole thing is getting more and more interesting.

@scranity As for Aria's personality, it may come across as horrid but here's the thing. Unfortunately the world is a cruel place for those who are innocent and simple-minded. Aria and her mother died in her first life exactly because of this and failed to see through the hidden tactics. To defeat a beast, you must become one; unfortunately in Aria's case she has no choice if she wants to survive

@lolikoki You explained it better than me ! Well said 👏🏻

Aria increases her vertical jump 7 inches overnight and like three people notice lmao

edit: I'll be the one to say it

I love Annie's materialistic scheming greedy ass. I wish her a happy end.

Probably one of the best isekai formulated. All plot elements are consistently brought into play (the thing with the hourglass? Brilliant without being contrived or overpowered). Aria is vengeful in a completely understanding and human way. I also REALLY like the fact that the Love Interest is an outsider who recognises her skills. The deception regarding her identity and Asher's wooing is all on point.

For those criticising her characterisation, you really need to reconsider, because Aria is an extremely sympathetic and fully realised character. Her awareness and consideration of commoners isn't because she's a SAINT who is suddenly super concerned about the welfare of others, it's because she WAS ONE! That's a complete plus not only for her in the story, but also in her portrayal. It makes SENSE. She's not overboard with her vengeance and neither is she overly buffed - I highly appreciate the fact that she goes through a legitimate growth process in educating herself. Yes she has a head start due to being reincarnated, but much of it is self-taught or done through tutors (she certainly couldn't embroider worth peanuts until she made herself WANT to, and with Sarah's help). You can't say that about a lot of other isekai.

If the issue is in her ruthlessness, I would disagree. She's smart as hell, biding her time. And also, what's wrong with getting revenge on the people who destroyed her life??? Why do you need to be squeaky clean to do it??? If revenge fantasies and petty, selfish characters are not your cup of tea, this manhua is not for you.

Honestly, a legitimately interesting and well done story. Mielle's pettiness which eventually leads to her destroying Aria and Mother isn't even overwrought - it is believable, and her existing schemes are childish and petty, which means she hasn't escalated yet.

That being said, I ROOT FOR ASHER/ARIA!!!!! HELL YEAH

@ispcizero3rd Just because she said so doesn't mean he actually does. He just sees Aria as part of the package to getting a beautiful wife like her mother. But he clearly does not consider her an actual daughter. Simply him trying to arrange a marriage between Aria and a servant just shows how little he values her.

A revenge fantasy with actual development and character growth. After being numbed by paid-by-chapter Chinese webcomic revenge fantasies... You get it. It is refreshing.

@ispcizero3rd he was just saying that because what else would you tell your new wife? That you think of her daughter as a bartering tool for more wealth?
He doesn't hate Aria and he appreciates when she has good business ideas, but she'll always be a pawn to him, never a beloved daughter like Mielle.

Wow talk about literally gambling your life away 😂 I'm sure she has a plan though.

Ah I can't wait to see how she gets back at Mielle and her family. Haven't seen the brother in a while though. I wonder how she'll deal with him.

Also aaaaah I love how Asher is giving her the connections and opportunities to rise up. At a price ofc but still that's great to see 👍

I haven't read the novel and don't know any spoilers (just my suspicions) but since she aged a bit from using the hour glass not to mention how it drains her energy, I'm assuming that some negative affects might start to happen with continued uses.

Now I remember Next, with Nicolas Cage, where he had the ability to see in the future and used it to gamble at the Casino.
