Whether they succeed in slaughtering them remains to be seen, but my point is that Thorfinn is still spouting his "oh no Einar you're wrong, if you think they're your enemy only then they'll be your enemy" B.S. even after being told by the cutie translator that most of the natives are literally wanting to scalp them and steal their shit.
It makes him look like a 20 IQ dummy with zero motivations and decision taking ability except for some unshakeable non violence vow. For which he's ready to sacrifice everyone else's plans and everything they've built. His whole shtick is communication and understanding and all that, but that goes out the window when it comes to swords.
The real Thorfinn Karlsefni was never this cucked, even though he was driven out at the end, this was after multiple skirmishes.
