It's just another way to say luck or genetic immunity.

Truly an inspiring quote. World peace could be achieved if more people thought this way.
I would say that this quote can be misinterpreted by people with big egos too lol.
“I have no enemies” can be seen as a peaceful thing, but also as someone who has a huge hubris and see everyone as beneath them to the point that they aren’t even worth being classified as “enemies”

Miskwekepu'j believes they are immune to the plague due to the protection of the great spirit. So does he think everyone who dies simply weren't faithful enough? The Nords aren't at fault, all those women and children actually deserved to die for losing the great spirits protection.
You're applying a very monotheistic lens to it. It's not faith that protects them, nor did those who died deserve to die, he's just acknowledging that they only live by the grace of a higher power. By chance.

Peak is back on the menu boys
Actually, this is fantastic. "Fridr cenotaph" the deceased are referring to is probably Arnheid, or the peace it represented.
The dead don't want him to give up, he survived 6 arrows+poison, is still going for it.

Also, Miskwekepu'j saying "they are protected by the great spirit", is that acknowledging the selective resistance some of the tribe members seem to have? Or is it him just kind of rationalizing his helping Thorfinn.
Plmk is a fuckin legend for pointing out Thorfinn's selflessness here. I love the perspective on Miskwekepu'j when he's reflecting.
Honestly pages 19/20 be my favorite 2 pages in the recent arc.
