not really, while the sword did fan the flames it did not cause the initial spark.

Yeah, the original spark was fear. The Lnu, specifically the old shaman, were afraid of change destructive to their way of life, afraid of changes toward a different way of living for them.

That's why he consulted the spirits, the visions of which caused him to try and attack Thorfinn with an axe, which caused the hotheaded youngspawn viking to cut of the shamans hand.

Many things went wrong here, you could say it was fear, or conservatism, or the foolishness of youth, also the unpreparedness to lead on Thorfinn's side.

It blows my mind that people make comments like these. It’s like you guys have completely ignored the entire purpose of the manga. This whole situation literally started BECAUSE of the Nords having the “bigger stick”. If that guy didn’t chop the Lnu’s hand off this wouldn’t have escalated to this level.
Everything's relative my man and you're not understanding his comment.

He doesn't mean having one sword will make a difference, he means having such a monumental advantage that war is unconscionable, "the war is over before it begins" sort of deal like nuclear bombs vs wooden sticks kind of difference.

Black Death

Also the reason of death of dodos, emus, tasmania devils. Rats ate their young & rats are too dirty to eat. The survivors are domestic cats & ... crabs... giant crabs.
Rats in the wild aren't really any more "dirty" than any other wild animal, it was more of an issue of island tameness where animals in an environment without natural predators end up losing a lot of the instincts and abilities that they would need to deal with them (and can't adapt fast enough when they're suddenly reintroduced). The ancestors of the dodo had the ability to fly, but over time they lost it because their island didn't have any dangers they needed to fly to avoid... and then that came back to bite them when sailors introduced the usual suspects (rats, cats, and dogs).
