Would be pretty poetic that way, like Thorfinn mentioned some people just go out of their way to seek out violence and those two are some pretty good examples. Have the series end by having two assholes take each other out.
the problem is that this method could not apply forever, because it is expectable that any way in some battles of leaders some one will interfer and further others will too, next it will lead to using of weapons and like that further improving of weapons.

This chapter was really good, nice seeing Thorfinns naive dreams come crashing down hard.
Betting he dies in the next chapter or two, well either him or Einar or someone else he cares about.

very depressing chapter, everyone is tired, so many people are dead, families with kids had to escape place they started to call home, all hope crushed, yet this lnu guy is talking about leadership and being new ruler, what a fucking loser.

Oh shit. Einar is about to start a century long war, isn't he. Helmet dude is obviously gonna break the peace, but Einar is the real danger

At this point, Thorfinn probably feels like that one kid who is excited to do a research project, only to find that his entire group is lazy and he has to do all of the work.

It is noble to strive for a world without violence, without slavery, without pain. But unfortunately, we cannot seem to commit to that. Our society is stunted - we teach our children the wrong lessons, which they then grow up teaching to their children. We reward people who gain power by force, believe their lies because it’s better than admitting that maybe we made a wrong decision.

Our society is like a broken leg not set properly, causing it to grow crooked. And if we work to fix this, how would we do so? Would we need to break it again to fix it, doing the same amount of violence we tried to prevent? If we travel to a new land, are we not bringing our sins with us?

It is a question that, more than a thousand years after, we have no good answer.

The problem is that peace can only exist if everyone agrees so it's never up to their group to have it. As soon as another group comes in contact with yours they now have a say in whether you live in peace because they can decide to be the aggressor. People are flawed so peace exists only until the next violent leader comes to power :fml:
