Sorry to break it to you guys, but most people don’t like being hurt by their significant other. His feelings are valid even if there’s inevitably going to be some sort of misunderstanding narrative/trope involved here.
His objection to the arrangement is understandable. His handling of it, on the other hand...

Boy's a whole-ass circus, not just a clown.

He offered to pay Haruka 60 coins to win the match when he isn't even in the tournament. The boy has no clue what the hell is actually going on, he's just hoping he can make things go his way by throwing his dad's money around.

Honestly, he could probably get her to want to annul the engagement herself he just interacted with her. I can't imagine most women wanting to have that guy's babies.

Kind of off-topic but I tried to draw a manga panel for the first time, what do you all think?

The detail is clear and your scene intent is conveyed. Posture and perspective a bit off but you'll improve those in time. There's a disconnect between the 2nd and 3rd panels and I can't make out if the line marks are slashes, noise or magic waves. The leaves, sparkles and water droplets suggest magic. 2nd panel is fine in showing the character's intent and situation but I would have added a smaller panel on top the 3rd to show crossing/deflecting swords to prime the reader for the stabby bit, especially if this meant to be a first page. If they're NPCs I'd recommend erasing their eyes for to highlight the surreality of the situation for the girl because as it is it gives me the impression their identities will be notable.

Nah you're way off, I bet she's the one gunning for this marriage. She probably has a crush on him and the father knows.

That would certainly be the comedy route, but still begs the question: has she ever actually spoken with this idiot?

This is the bit that confused me. How can Haruka fight as his proxy? Is he able to just insert a competitor into the competition at this late stage no questions asked?

If I were Geats and was being forced to marry an abusive woman against my will, I'd renounce my name, skip country and set up life in a small village somewhere using my noble education to do accounting or some shit.

Abusive partners are the worst, especially when you balk at their aggression and they go for a blade to try kill you.

Still see that shit sometimes in my dreams and it's been nearly a decade.

Yes.

Why? Nobles and Money.

Historically? Wealthy sponsor backing a gladiator to win a tournament.

The talent gets fame and renown, and the sponsor gets prestige and clout. "The Count has the champion on his pay roll / faction."

As usual, I like how chill the MC is. And how having to get used to this world's logic takes time. Some things are serious business for adventurers, from a professional point of view.

If you allow me to play devil's advocate, we're not sure she's abusive. He says "when I was little, she beat me to a pulp constantly", which may be part of the (sadly) usual "violent tsundere" archetype... but also the results of sparring.

He comes from a noble family that takes warrior talent very seriously, he was probably made to spar and train with warriors and children of the nobility. I can easily imagine a scenario where this girl (who's clearly talented at martial arts and appreciated by his father) was part of his sparring sessions, and he was defeated time and time again. A humilliating and painful memory for him, but more akin to being terrible at sports yet being forced by your father to play against much better opponents.

I want to read it as them horsing around as kids and her just not being mature enough to know when to stop. Could be wrong though.
