ultimately it's said guy's overcoming his internal and external struggles that resolve the main conflict but it can be exhausting, at times, to see the world thru his eyes
and that also reflects the author's own frustration - he can only be an observer, from the outside, even for his own ideals
how he actually sees himself and what the real world reflects back at him is a painful reminder of that
