Welcome to all the newcomers! I hope this brings a chance for more series that aren't translated on here to be filled in my groups that already did so on Mangarock. I know a few groups left MD recently too, so hopefully the newcomers can take over for retired groups.

Honestly speaking the only thing that still kept me from not going full MD is the unstable loading speed, more often than not I get fast loading on MR app over Wifi whereas MD just show a spinning number forever despite on Ethernet connection lol :v

considering that people aren't getting paid to build the website and that its all community based, i'm really surprised at the loading speed. Other manga websites have readers that work by the barest margin. All in all they did a good job on the website apart from the slowish load speed.😅

@RonBWL , if you have trouble with the loading speed , try changing the image server to north america or europe servers , then maybe the manga-s 's pages will load faster .

@History , there is a way to mark your already-read chapters : https://mangadex.org/chapter/449711/1 .

- after you followed a manga , choose the option "reading" .

- click the "Follows" button on the top navigation bar , or use this link : https://mangadex.org/follows .

- click the button "latest updates" , choose "all" .

- your already-read chapters will be marked with a black eye icon .

Ok now Im sure this sites only bookmarked manga tracker "Follows" is not working. Lot of mangas are updated got new chapters,but does not appear on Follows list. Whats the update inverval?

I have never thought there will be other people like me trying to find other app or website to read mangas that uodate regularly 😟 guess there's bunch of people using mangarock too, well too bad. Hope mangadex is the one for me. Peace ✌️

For those asking about an app to replace mangarock's reader.
I haven't tested it myself, but there's an opensource (free, no adverts) reader that is compatible with mangadex, you can find it here:

Hopefully it works well for you, sorry if it's been mentioned, I didn't look through the 9ish pages to see if someone had already

Funny thing is that I just started seriously using mangarock just a month ago or so... Let's hope this site is less... self-implody...

It’s funny you say that because I think Mangadex is already a PWA. That’s how I’m using it currently anyways. On iOS I just add the site to the homescreen and it automatically becomes one like Twitter.

Luckily out of the manga i was reading i had finished all but like 12 If it was light novels i would’ve been screwed im reading alot of those and even more real books lol still this site seems good and it actually says who translated it so i can read it there unlike mangarock which doesnt

@Holo I haven't done exhaustive research, but that isn't what I've heard about the subject. It was my understanding that as an unauthorized adaptation, the rights are automatically assigned to the IP-holder who can de-facto let the licensee use it or something like that. That companies asking to use scanlation scripts in the past has been a matter of courtesy and if they decline, they don't use it for fear of bad PR rather than not having the right to use it.
